Bush Tyres made their arrival in Scunthorpe in late 2002. Our fresh and modern building was designed from the outset to be a state of the art facility throughout. From the architecture to the equipment, from our experienced and enthusiastic staff to the unsurpassed array of tyres kept in stock, nothing has been overlooked. Whilst the world's governments were frantically preparing for the impending doom of the which many "Computerists" proclaimed would see the world thrown back into the dark ages at the stroke of midnight at the dawn of the new millenium, Nissan were busy building their famed 4 door saloon.

1999 seems like such a long time ago now, but this pristine looks just as fresh today as it did over 25 years ago when it first rolled out of Nissan's factory in Sunderland.

You could easily be forgiven for thinking this time capsule of a car from the photographs taken by our team in our Bush Tyres Scunthorpe depot was brand new but you'd be wrong.

During the 1999 BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) season, Laurent Aïello and David Leslie won 19 out of the 26 races held that year to cement the Nissan Primera GT into history.

According to data from , there are less than 100 Nissan Primera GT's on the UK's roads. That makes this an exceptionally rare car. So what was this car doing in our Scunthorpe depot?

Well the owner had entrusted our technicians to perform a full 4 wheel alignment on their pride and joy.

By using sophisticated computerised measuring equipment, the team were able to measure the alignment of each wheel, and then adjust the camber, caster, and toe settings of each individual wheel to bring the alignment back to Nissan's original factory specification.

We don't expect this car to rack up thousands of miles, but at least from now on when it is taken out for a drive, the handling, fuel economy and tyre lifespan will all be maximised thanks to the optimised alignment settings from our skilled .

In the rush to save weight and improve fuel economy, where once was a spare wheel in your car's boot is now just empty space.

To counter this have introduced this spare wheel kit which is available to order through any of our Bush Tyres depots.

Fortunately for the owner of this vehicle, they had very luckily purchased their very own Road Hero kit which within 24 hours, they needed to use.

The great thing about this kit is that the owner was then able to drive their car to our Bush Tyres Grimsby depot to get fitted with a new tyre to replace the damaged one.

Earlier at our Bush Tyres Scunthorpe depot, we were kept busy swapping the tyres over for a new set of from Ascenso Tyres on this John Deere #21121 tractor which belongs to North Lincolnshire Council.

MDR1000 blend traction when out in the field and perfect manners when on the road travelling too and from various council sites.

Traditional tractor drive tyres are designed to provide maximum traction when working off road.

Whilst they can be driven on the road to and from the field, if the tyre spends too much time on the road being driven at speed, then ultimately the tyre will suffer from premature ageing and cracking because of the heat building upon within the tyre.

Ascenso's MDR1000 blends off road performance with its block tread design that provides excellent traction out in the field but more importantly, because of the block design of the tread pattern, heat does not build up within the tyre to the same extent as a traditional tyre when driven on the roads.

Indeed across our network of branches we fit many MDR1000 to agricultural vehicles that spend long periods of time travelling too and from the field.

It just goes to prove how important it is to consider when purchasing tyres for a busy , what is will primarily be used for and what ratio of its working life will be spent in the field versus on the road.

If you get that wrong, then very quickly you can wear out a set of tyres long before the end of their normal life span.

Nokian Heavy Tyres with their pioneering 2.0 system which is fitted as standard to their tyres are a real gamechanger.

With Intuitu 2.0 sensors installed within the Soil King tyre, data is transmitted via to 's Intuitu smartphone app.

At a glance you can see the pressure within each tyre, the temperature of each tyre and now with the intuitu 2.0 system, the loading the tyre is subject too.

With this accurate data the operator can improve power transfer, minimise soil compaction, improve fuel economy and extend the lifespan of the tyre.

And recently in our Bush Tyres Scunthorpe depot we were tasked with fitting a pair of tyres to this achingly beautiful Aston Martin .
