Massive congratulations to Tyler Dack on passing his driving test FIRST TIME this morning at Scarborough Test Centre! 🚗💨🎉

It was a bit touch and go getting there, though! After a lorry decided to have a bit of a lie-down on Barry’s Lane 🤦‍♂️, traffic outside the test centre backed up and we ended up cutting it VERY fine for our 10:04am test.

But… WE MADE IT! 😂 And thankfully Tyler then went and did the important business! 😎👏🏻

After around 18 hours of lessons, Tyler was more than ready to rock, helped along the way by plenty of private practice with the legend that is a good old friend of mine — and quite possibly the best travel agent around — Mr Danny Dack

Stay safe out there, Tyler, and remember… a driving licence is a privilege, not a right — so keep hold of the bloody thing! 😂

And finally, it was actually kinda cute seeing you taking your pals through the drive-thru this evening while I was teaching another lesson. 🥹😂

Massive congratulations to Luke Love on passing his driving test this afternoon at Scarborough Test Centre with just 3 driving faults! 👏🚗💨

Luke started lessons with me back in February and has been an absolute pleasure to teach. Despite training to be a mechanic, his driving knowledge was pretty limited at the start… mainly because he’d never actually sat in the driver’s seat before! 😂

That soon changed. He took to driving like a duck to water, put the hard work in, and today it all paid off with a fantastic result.

On a more personal note, I’d also like to congratulate Mum, Dad, his brother, sister, and everyone else who’s played a part in bringing this young man up. What a cracking job you’ve done! He’s polite, friendly, funny, respectful, and an absolute credit to every one of you.

Luke said himself he’s going to miss our Friday night lessons — those two hours spent discussing football, cricket, boxing, life coaching (whether he asked for it or not 😂), and whatever random topic popped into conversation that week. Truth be told, I’ll miss them too!

That said, I’m absolutely buzzing for you, mate. The commitment, effort and dedication you’ve shown to achieve this goal has been brilliant to see, and you thoroughly deserve today’s result.

Now go and enjoy your freedom…

Hats off to Sam Moore for passing his driving test first time this morning at Scarborough Test Centre! 🎉🚗

Sam came to me a few months ago after having around 8 hours of lessons with another instructor 2–3 years ago, but he’d completely lost confidence in his driving. 😤

Sam won’t mind me saying that people just aren’t really his thing 😂, so the thought of sitting in a car with a complete stranger while they decided whether he was worthy of a driving licence was a genuine concern for him!
Because of that, a lot of Sam’s nerves were focused on the test itself, so the bulk of our lessons were spent building his confidence, alongside teaching him how to drive safely and appropriately… obviously! 😎

Safe to say the lessons paid off. When I picked Sam up at the highly respectable time of 06:50 this morning 😭 for his pre-test lesson and asked, “How are you feeling?”, his response was:

“Yeah, I’m well up for it!”

From that moment on, I didn’t have a single doubt he’d get the job done. His driving ability was top-notch, and today he proved it. 👏

It couldn’t have come at a better time either, with a baby on the way and a young family that’s about to need chauffeuring here, there and everywhere! 👶🚗

Congratulations, Sam — a thoroughly deserved result today!
All the best with the newest member of the Moore clan when they arrive. I’m sure you’ll be looking forward to those peaceful midnight drives to help them nod off… 😂

BIIIIIGGGGG shout-out to Bobbie Dixon this morning for passing her driving test with ZERO driving faults!
Absolutely smashed it! 🎉🚗

Bobbie started lessons with me back in October as a complete novice. Learning to drive wasn’t always easy for her. For starters, she lives 20 miles away from where we did our lessons, so just getting here was a challenge in itself! On top of that, she had a real battle with her lefts and rights, which made following directions and sat nav instructions a bit of an adventure at times—especially on those pesky roundabouts!
But we worked on it, found a few tricks to help, and today she’s completely knocked it out of the park with a faultless drive.
Test passed. Job done. 👏

If we’re being honest though, this result probably should have happened last week… except Bobbie only went and lost her provisional licence on the morning of her test! 🤦‍♂️😂 In true sitcom fashion, it magically reappeared about 20 minutes after her test was due to start. You genuinely couldn’t make it up!
A special shout-out to her college teacher for finding it and returning it—slightly later than ideal, but still a hero in the story! As they say, good things come to those who wait… and today’s result proves it.

Massive congratulations again, Bobbie. I’m proper chuffed for you and all the freedom this is about to bring. You’ve worked incredibly hard for it and thoroughly deserve it.
Drive safe, enjoy every minute of it, and maybe keep that pink licence somewhere you’ll definitely remember! 😉🚗

🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 2nd pass of the day! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

This time, it’s a huge shout-out to Andy Dowsland for passing his driving test this afternoon at the very first attempt, with just 1 driver fault! 🚗💨

Andy might be a little late to the driving licence party, but as they say, better late than never!

Having never sat in the driver's seat in his 40 years on this planet, Andy came to me a few months ago determined to get that licence in the bag. His very first lesson was in darkness, rain, and THICK fog... because apparently we skipped the "easy mode" tutorial! Even so, he still managed to drive himself home.

When I mentioned how good he was at retaining information, Andy replied that he "hates getting things wrong more than once." That was music to my ears! From that moment on, he threw himself into every lesson, improved week after week, and today got exactly the result he deserved.

A first-time pass, 1 driver fault, and a full licence in the pocket. Not bad for a bloke who started from absolute scratch a few months ago! 👏🏻👏🏻

Well done, Andy. Stay safe on the roads, mate, enjoy the celebrations tonight, and I'm sure I'll see you out there sometime soon.

A HUGE congratulations to Maddie Judd for passing her driving test this morning with just 2 driver faults! 🚗🎉

Where do I even start with this one...

Back in March 2025, when I started as a trainee driving instructor, Maddie was my very first enquiry, my very first client, and the very first person I ever taught professionally.

While I may have taught Maddie how to drive, she taught me something too. For some people, driving comes naturally... and for others, it arrives after a few extra lessons, a lot of determination, and the occasional "Are you sure I can do this?" conversation 😂. Maddie definitely won't mind me saying she was in the second category!

There were times when she probably felt like throwing in the towel, but she never gave up. She put the work in, kept turning up, listened to every bit of advice, and practised until she had it nailed.

Always up for a good gossip, always had a story to tell, and somehow managed to remember every instruction 😂

Thank you for putting your trust in me from day one. Watching you grow in confidence behind the wheel has been mega, and this pass is thoroughly deserved and was defo worth the 5am wake up call for the the 7:03am test slot 🫣😂

HUGE shoutout to Sonny Mason for passing his driving test this morning on his very first attempt! 🚗✅🙌🏻

On a bright and Sonny day in Scarbados, you can always expect one thing… busy tourist traffic! Sonny didn’t let that phase him, though. He showed the examiner he has the skills and know-how to navigate busy roads safely and now he’s got the pink licence to prove it!

Sonny has been a pleasure to teach. A man of few words, but with an incredible ability to soak up information like a sponge. Starting with me as a complete novice, and with just 24 hours of lessons (plus a little private practice in his own car), he’s achieved the result he deserves.

Congrats again Sonny, stay safe on them roads pal! 🚗👏
