✅ MIRROR-SIGNAL-CELEBRATE ✅
🚨 FIRST-TIME PASS ALERT! 🚨
A MASSIVE congratulations to Sara Nelson for passing her driving test at the FIRST attempt this morning at Scarborough Test Centre! 🎉🚗💨
Sara started learning with me as a complete beginner back in May 2025.
Now, Sara won’t mind me saying this… driving didn’t exactly come naturally to her. 😂
With her ADHD, there were definitely times when her attention span decided it had better things to do.
And over the last 16 months, I’ve been treated to some absolute GOLD. 😂
🐝 EXHIBIT A — THE BEES
We were working on anticipation and defensive driving, so I asked Sara:
“What could be around this corner that we may have to consider?”
Before I’d even finished asking the question, at the absolute top of her voice:
“BEEEEES!!!” 🐝😂
Not quite the answer I was looking for, Sara. 😂
🐾 EXHIBIT B — THE MOLE
Then there was the time we were driving through Burniston when Sara spotted a MOLE slowly making its way across the road.
“A MOLE!!!” she shouted.
And then, as quickly and correctly as you like…

OUT OF THE CAR SHE GOES. 😂
She then proceeds to run back down the road to save the poor mole from becoming roadkill.
Gets back in the car…
And carries on with her driving lesson as though absolutely nothing unusual has happened.
Then casually informs me that it has always been a dream of hers to touch a mole.
😂😂😂
I genuinely didn’t know whether I was teaching someone to drive or working for the RSPCA.
⏰ EXHIBIT C — WHAT TIME IS IT?
Sara’s lessons have ALWAYS started at 17:15.
A couple of , I got a message from Sara at 16:15:
“I’ll be right out.”
I looked at the time.
She was an hour early.
So I messaged:
“You’re an hour early.”
Her reply?
“I’ve just left work early.” 😂😂😂
She then had to make her way BACK to work and explain to her colleagues what had happened.
Their response?
“We did think it was a bit strange that you just got up and left.” 😂😂😂
Honestly, Sara has kept me on my toes for the last 16 months! 😂
But jokes aside…
This is what makes today’s pass even more special.
Sara REALLY, REALLY committed to learning to drive.
She turned up week after week.
She kept going when things were difficult.
She listened, practised, made mistakes, learned from them and kept pushing herself.
And today, after starting as a complete beginner, she went to Scarborough Test Centre and PASSED FIRST TIME! 🥳👏🏼
I genuinely couldn’t be happier for her.
Hard work pays off! 💪🏼
Sara, you should be massively proud of yourself.
Well done again! 🎉👏🏼
Stay safe on them roads…
And whatever you do…
KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR MOLES. 🐾😂
