Not done an update in a long while, but still been busy with trips when the weather has allowed us to get out. The last couple of weeks we have started our wreck fishing trips and our anglers have not been disappointed, with ling to 13lb and cod to 7lb, with squid baited muppet rigs and Hokkais all fishing very well. The water clarity is showing good signs of clearing and another couple of weeks should see the shads start to fish. The wrecks are showing good numbers of fish with drifts often producing 3 to 4 fish every drift over out last few trips.
Also the school whit holiday break is just around the corner aswell as the school summer holidays so if you would like a fun 3 hr taster session please feel free to give us a call to book your places during the holiday season aswell as our 2hr evening mackerel sessions during the summer holidays, we’re all your fishing tackle, rods and reels etc are all provided aswell as Tuition.
We also have spaces on our 10hr wreck fishing trips throughout the season so book early to secure the better tides.

Our first update of 2022 and I’d like to wish everyone all the best and hopefully a good years fishing is awaiting.
Sadly due to the recent weather we’ve not been out since before Christmas. In the run upto Christmas we managed a few trips with a good numbers of cod over the rails to 7lb for regular mick collins, with the average stamp,
Around the 3 to 4lb mark and all our anglers took a few for the freezer, with the pennel rigs baited with squid and black lug cocktails been the bait of choice.
We have availability throughout the month of jan
For our uptide/downtide trips, which usually sees a bigger stamp of cod.
Prices for our trips over winter are £45 with tackle included aswell as hire gear thrown in if needed.

It’s been a while since our last update, with the weather not been in our favour over the last few weeks, but with the weather finally settling we managed to finally get a full weekend in, with both Saturday and Sunday fishing very well with non stop action on the cod for our anglers. With around 50 to 60 fish over the rails on both days to around the 5lb mark, all our anglers left with plenty of fillets for the freezer.
The general stamp
Of fish was around the 2lb to 3lb bracket and many safely returned for another day.
The weather for the week ahead is looking settled at the moment so we have spaces tomorrow, Thursday aswell as the weekend, so if your looking to stock those freezers before Christmas feel free to give dan a call on 07500088947.
We supply all the rods, reels and tackle at no extra cost and all trips are £45pp over winter with a max of 8 on the boat.

It’s been a long few weeks getting only a couple of days in due to weather. On the days we managed there was quite a few codling around upto 4lb. With a break in the weather midweek we have spaces available for our uptide/downtiding trips. 8am till 4pm.

Our uptide/downtide season is now underway, after a weeks holiday we hit the grounds on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and the lads weren’t disappointed, with around 50 cod boated on each trip to around the 5lb mark. We also had a surprise strap conger which was safely returned.
Squid and black lug fishing well on the pennel rigs, and with the recent weather stirring up the inshore waters making the clarity ideal and bringing the cod on the feed.
To book an uptide /downtide trip this winter give us call.
We will only carry a max of 8 on our uptide trips giving plenty of room, and our trips run 8am till 4pm.
Cost of charter is £45pp and this includes hire gear and tackle if needed.
Bait can be arranged but will need to be paid for on day of trip , so if your looking to get out on the cod and get your freezer stocked, call

The summer holidays are well underway now and trips are running thick and fast, with a mixture of 10hr wreck fishing trips and 3hr taster sessions aswell as the odd 2hr evening trip. The waters have cleared out nicely and we’re seeing a good stamp of cod moving onto the grounds with the better fishing coming on the neap tides. The weather for the time of year at sea has been difficult meaning alot of our fishing has been done hard inside. Our anglers have managed cod to around 5lb aswell as coleys and plenty of mackerel now showing on our taster sessions giving the kids some great fun.

The week ahead we have odd spaces for our 10hr wreck fishing trips

Monday 2nd august, 4 spaces
Tuesday 3rd august, 5 places
Friday 6th august , 5 places

We also have space on our 3 hr and 2hr evening sessions which are ideal for beginners and families visiting Whitby on holiday, so if your looking for a few hours of fun give us a call.

With the weather and tides been perfect this past week, we have been busy with wreck fishing trips aswell as our 3hr taster sessions. The mackerel are showing in good numbers so
Plenty of fresh bait been picked up before we hit the wrecks. The fishing has been steady with us picking away on all our trips with ling to 7lb and our best cod over the week of 8.5lbs falling to Ian on his first wreck fishing trip aboard Tilly-mae,aswell as a good stamp of cod around the 4lb mark.
The waters are clearing out and we are catching on artificial lures such as shads, hokkais , daylights although the better fish are falling to squid baited muppets. The diary is always open to our wreck fishing trips aswell as winter uptide and downtide trips so if you would like to book on or give me a try please feel to drop me a message or contact me.

We also are fast approaching the school summer holidays and we are taking bookings on our 2hr eve trips aswell as our 3hr trips which run 10am,1pm and 4.15pm, prices start at 25pp and we supply all the rods, tackle and bait aswell as help and advice throughout your trip. We will clean and fillet any fish were possible ready for you to take home should you wish. We also use multiplier reels which are nice and light for children.

Our last few trips we have done a mixture of wreck fishing aswell as working ground inshore and had some good fishing for the lads aboard. We have picked cod to 5lb of the wrecks and when the winds have whipped up from the south east we have worked some inshore marks and steadily picked away. The water is starting to clear out nicely in places as I thought it would with all the settled weather we have had. Artificial lures, hokkais both baited or unbaited all fishing well.
If you would like strip out with me or more info on any of our trips, please feel free to contact me with any questions. We have hire gear aboard for anybody that needs it at no extra cost.
Spaces are filling up fast on our wreck fishing trips throughout the summer so please book up quick to avoid disappointment.

This last week with the kids been off school the weather has been amazing and the fish have been plentiful.The weather and tides have been in our favour and the inshore waters clearing out nicely has meant we haven’t had to go to far to get on the fish. Finally had my first few trips away with my new boat Tilly-mae.
I’ve run a mixture of 3 hr taster trips and a couple of trips over the wrecks. The weather and tides have been in our favour and the inshore waters clearing out nicely has meant we haven’t had to go to far to get on the fish, with ling to 5lb, string fulls of Maccys on the 3 mile ground and even a few haddocks and plenty of codling around the 3lb to 4lb mark. It’s been great to finally get to sea and all the hard work over the past few weeks getting the boat ready has finally paid off.
With the school half term
Just a week away I have a few days we’re I’ll be running 3 hr taster sessions 10am and 1pm, these trips are great for families and beginners looking to experience a few hours fishing of the coast of Whitby.
We’re also booking up fast for our full days drifting the wrecks and ground.

Hi all this is my first post as a owner, young skipper of my new boat Tilly-mae. As many who have fished out of Whitby and those who no
Me will no this has been my ambition and I never thought I’d achieve it at such a young age. I’ve been around charter boats from age 10 and was instantly hooked from the moment I wet a line, I’d even knock of school and hide on boat just to be out there. From leaving school I went straight to work crewing for Paul Kilpatrik on the sea otter 2 gaining further experience and during that time I enrolled onto various theory courses and the went on to complete my skippers ticket. I’d just like to say a big thank you to Paul Kilpatrick for giving me the opportunity to work with him and showing me how he does things and that knowledge will always stay with me but I feel the time is right to spread my wings and make a start on building my future. The diary is open from this coming weekend for wreck, reef, summer 2 and 3hr trips aswell as winter uptiding. As I get to work I’ll start adding more content and hope to have my website up and running before the weekend. I hope you all pick up the phone and get a trip booked and come have a trip with me and I’ll show you how to rattle them
