If you own a diesel car then chances are you have a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Any diesel engine can be susceptible to soot build-up, especially those mainly driven around town or on short or low speed journeys. DPFs are designed to remove this soot as you drive, but over time they can stop working.

If you're experiencing any of following symptoms your DPF may need cleaning:

- The DPF or Engine warning symbol has appeared on your
car's dashboard
- Loss of power
- The automatic stop-start system isn't working
- Poor fuel economy
- Cooling fans run more than normal

If your filter is found to be blocked, our technicians will inspect and carry out tests to the car to understand what has caused the blockage, and will carry out an intensive clean to solve the issue.

The DPF cleaning package consists of a in depth diagnostics check and comprehensive data logging before the cleaning process begins. This allows us to ensure the DPF sensors are working and to highlight any potential running issues which could have caused the DPF to block in the first place.

Once we are happy we carry out a 2 stage DPF clean using our specialist machine. Once the cleaning process has finished we then go on a test drive to ensure the vehicle is running correctly while carrying out further data logging to double check everything is working properly again and ensure no further blockage will prematurely happen.
