FIRST LOOK! Sprogley Motorsport Rear Brake Cooling Kit - BMW F8X 🏁🤘🏼
Another solid product being added to our line up of functional, track tested products for the F8X BMW platform, is our new F8X Rear brake cooling kit (currently for blue calipers only).

Rear brake temperatures on this platform seem to have very mixed opinions. Some say the rear never gets that hot, others say they burn through rear pads. How better to find out what’s what than with a… you guessed it…. TEST.
It’s common knowledge that a backing plate cannot be used on the rear of this platform. There are some ‘interesting’ attempts out there at a solution for the rear, so we thought we would have a crack at our own ‘interesting’ attempt, get on track and see what happens.
Testing conditions were horrible. From monsoon to dry and sunny, our test day at Snetterton looked like a wasted trip, but even at an overall slower pace than usual on road tyres, we came away with a surprising rear Caliper temperature reduction of 15.4%, during a session with TC fully off. Considering our AP Caliper scoops are achieving around 20% cooling, that’s pretty good going I would say! I would expect an even better result on a hot dry day.
This rear kit is a nice bolt on solution, completely reversible, and even more straightforward to fit than the front kit. The scoop feeds air to the back of the caliper, which cools the caliper, brake fluid and pads.
As is the case with most of our products, it’s unique and original, and properly works. Will we see this design copied in due course? Maybe! But until then, you can now pre order the F8X rear brake cooling kit on our website. Half the team is away in Germany at the moment, so looking at a couple of weeks to build up stock for dispatch.
