BMW 750i Individual back with us for a gearbox service 🔧

This BMW 750i Individual came in for preventative gearbox maintenance to help keep the transmission operating smoothly and reliably.

The service was carried out using the correct specialist tools, following the manufacturer’s torque procedures, and filled with genuine ZF Lifeguard transmission oil to ensure the gearbox continues to perform exactly as intended.

Work carried out:

• Genuine ZF Lifeguard gearbox oil
• Gearbox oil sump (integrated filter)
• New sump bolts
• New connector
• New sealing sleeves

Regular gearbox servicing is often overlooked, but replacing the transmission oil and filter at the correct intervals helps maintain smooth gear changes, reduces wear on internal components, and can significantly extend the life of the gearbox.

Another BMW 335i Convertible brought back to life 🔧

This BMW 335i Convertible arrived as a non-runner with multiple faults that needed addressing before it could be returned to reliable condition.

The initial fault was a heavily corroded 12V power cable beneath the battery tray in the boot. Once repaired, we discovered the starter motor had also failed. After getting the engine running, a major coolant leak was found from the turbo cooling pipe. The vehicle also had several oil leaks, and a faulty driver’s window prevented the convertible roof from operating correctly.

Work carried out:

• Repair of 12V power cable
• Starter motor replacement
• Turbo cooling pipe replacement
• Gearbox service
• Engine oil & filter
• Alternator belt
• Spark plugs
• Driver’s window repair
• Engine oil sump gasket
• Oil filter housing gaskets

The result is a 335i Convertible that now starts first time, drives exactly as it should, the roof operates correctly again, and all major coolant and oil leaks have been resolved. 💪

BMW 335i project brought back to life after being off the road since 2021 🔧

We purchased this BMW 335i as a non-runner due to a fueling issue, knowing it had the potential to be a great project.

After diagnosing and repairing the fueling fault, we finally got the engine running. However, we were then greeted by a pair of whining turbos, which required a full rebuild before the car could be completed properly.

Work carried out:

• 6x Injectors
• Turbo rebuild
• High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP)
• Engine oil & filter
• Spark plugs

After sitting off the road since 2021, this 335i is now running smoothly, building boost as it should, and ready to return to regular use. 💪

Projects like this show that with the right diagnosis and quality repairs, even a car that’s been parked for years can be brought back to life.

Vehicle arrived with significant oil leaks caused by poor sealing from previous repair work. Customer also reported vibrations around 60mph, which upon inspection were traced to worn front control arm bushes.

To resolve the issue properly, the following work was carried out:

• Engine oil sump gasket
• Rocker cover gasket
• Rear crank seal
• Timing cover reseal
• Injector seals
• Fresh engine oil
• Oil filter
• 2x front control arms

Everything cleaned, resealed, and reassembled correctly to restore reliability, eliminate oil leaks, and restore smooth driving performance 👍

Oil leaks should never be ignored, as they can eventually lead to:
• Low engine oil level
• Premature engine wear
• Damage to belts and surrounding components
• Smoke or burning smells from oil reaching hot surfaces
• Expensive repairs if left unresolved

BMW F20 114d in for timing chain replacement 🔧

Vehicle came in following previous cold start rattling, a common early warning sign of timing chain wear.

Upon inspection, slight slack was found in the upper timing chain, so a full replacement was carried out before further damage could occur.

Work carried out:
• Engine oil
• Oil filter
• Injector seals
• Rocker cover gasket
• 3x timing chains
• Chain guides
• Oil spray nozzle
• 2x tensioners
• Cam sprocket
• Oil pump sprocket
• HPFP sprocket
• Rear crank seal
• LuK clutch

Preventative action taken early to restore reliability and avoid major engine failure, while also replacing key wear components for long-term peace of mind.

Everything completed, timed correctly and running exactly as it should 👍
