Today over to bracknell to replace a wet belt on a transit custom
This one was a bit diffrent as it was only done 2 days ago by an absolute bodger of a so called wet belt specialist (i will leave it up to the customer to name and shame as there is a dipute on going.
Customer asked this guy for ford parts
And what he got was an skf upper belt (sh*tty belts in my opinion ) nappa filter cheap and nasty nappa 5w30 c3 oil which is wrong and also cheap and nasty.
However there was a new ford sump but with the old sump b**g and 4 loose bolts and one bolt to long resulting in a broken upper sump
Customer had to go and get the correct oil
Coolant that was so weak it would freeze in summer.
And oil leaks like you wouldn't belive.
All this plus snapped bolts loose bolts broken sump lugs on the upper sump wrong bolts in the cover engine mount bolt not fitted correctly
And so much sealer used it was a total mess.
Be very careful who you choose to replace wet belts there are so many people claiming to be the dogs danglies but you will end up in more trouble than you started with.
