🔥 78 YEARS OLD… AND WE’RE STILL SHAPING THE ALUMINIUM BY HAND! 🔨

This is the front wing from a 1948 Lea-Francis Sports — a rare piece of British motoring history with a full aluminium body.

We’re working on some wing extensions, using traditional panel beating and plenty of careful metal shaping to get those contours just right.

No shortcuts, no simply filling over the problems — just patience, skill and a proper understanding of the metal. Aluminium like this demands a different approach, and getting the shape right is everything.

This is what classic car restoration is all about: preserving original craftsmanship, saving rare cars and bringing them back to their former glory. ❤️

Got a classic car that deserves more than a quick patch-up? Whether it needs intricate metalwork, body repairs or a full restoration, we’d love to hear about it.

Get in touch with Central Garage Hinderwell and let’s talk about giving your pride and joy the restoration it deserves.

🏁 Rare cars deserve to be restored, not just repaired.

🛠️ Another little tech tip on our restoration process! 🔥

We’re always looking at ways to improve the quality of our work here at Central Garage Hinderwell & Heritage Metal Works.

This is Eastwood After Blast — designed to clean and protect freshly blasted metal with a zinc phosphate coating, helping promote paint and powder-coating adhesion.

When you’re dealing with classic cars, bare-metal restoration and corrosion repair, it’s all about getting the preparation right before moving on to the next stage. 👌

Because a quality finish starts long before the paint gun comes out! 💪

🚀 A bit of exciting news from Central Garage Hinderwell! 🔧

It’s looking like we could have another member of the team joining us in the next week or two! 👀

He’s a very experienced restoration guy, and bringing someone with his knowledge and skills on board should make a significant difference to the ever-growing backlog of work we have.

As many of you know, we’re working hard towards becoming more restoration-focused, taking on bigger projects and delivering the level of workmanship we want to be known for.

With the amount of work coming through the door, having another experienced pair of hands will hopefully help us get through the backlog, keep things moving and give us a bit more breathing room! 😂

📅 Availability update: As things stand, we're fully booked with no availability until next year. However, with the potential addition to the team, this may change slightly, so there could be some opportunities opening up.

So keep those enquiries coming! Whether it’s a classic car restoration, fabrication work or a bigger project you’ve been planning, we’re always happy to hear what you have in mind. 🔧

Exciting times ahead as we continue building towards the future we want for the business. Quality over quantity, doing things properly and making restoration our main focus. ❤️

A massive thank you to everyone who continues to support us and trust us with your projects. We genuinely appreciate it!
