πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Pedro from Salford on passing his driving test at Cheetham Hill today! πŸš—βœ…

An excellent drive earned Pedro a fantastic result with just 1 minor fault recorded throughout the test.

To top it off, the examiner even commented on how nice and relaxed his driving was – always great feedback to hear and a reflection of the calm, safe driving style we’ve worked hard to develop.

A well-deserved pass and another full licence holder on the roads. Enjoy the freedom and independence that comes with it, Pedro, and thank you for choosing me to be part of your journey.

Safe driving and all the best for the future! πŸš™πŸŽŠ

⚠️ WARNING FOR LEARNER DRIVERS ⚠️

The DVSA has announced that learner drivers who use unofficial apps, websites or social media services to find, book or manage driving tests could have their test cancelled.

Since May 2026, only learner drivers are allowed to book, change, swap or cancel their own driving test appointments.

The DVSA has confirmed that learners must:

βœ… Use GOV.UK to book and manage tests
βœ… Use their own details
βœ… Manage bookings themselves

Do NOT:

❌ Use unofficial driving test finder apps
❌ Pay someone on social media to book or find a test
❌ Give your details to someone else to manage your booking

If the DVSA identifies misuse, they may:

⚠️ Suspend online access to your booking
⚠️ Require all future changes to be made by phone
⚠️ Cancel your driving test

The aim is to make the system fairer for everyone and reduce abuse of the booking system.

If you’re one of my pupils and you’re unsure whether a service is legitimate, please ask me before using it.

Always use GOV.UK for driving test bookings and changes.

Huge congratulations to Krista on passing her driving test FIRST TIME at Bolton Test Centre with only 5 minor faults! πŸŽ‰πŸš—

Krista started her driving journey with me almost 3 years ago, and despite the ups and downs along the way, she never gave up on her dream of learning to drive so she could take her daughter wherever she needed to go.

Now, with her growing family, having that driving licence will make life so much easier and more convenient. This pass is proof that persistence and determination really do pay off!

I’m incredibly proud of the hard work and commitment she showed throughout her journey. Wishing you safe and happy driving, Krista β€” you’ve earned it! πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

In this video, we cover some of the most challenging roundabouts on the Cheetham Hill Driving Test Centre test routes, including a spiral roundabout and a dual carriageway approach.

These roundabouts are often feared by learners because they require good lane discipline, planning ahead, and confidence when dealing with busy traffic.

One key situation shown in this video is when the correct lane (right lane for turning right) is not accessible due to traffic. Instead of forcing the lane change, we enter the roundabout from the middle lane and then safely change lanes on the roundabout when an opportunity appears. This is a completely valid and safe approach when done correctly, and it’s something many learners struggle with.

If you’re preparing for your driving test in Cheetham Hill or driving in busy areas around Manchester, this is a must-watch.

How long do you actually need to keep 20 mph in a school zone?

This is where most learners get it wrong

🚦 Mock Test Fault – Amber Light Awareness

In this dash cam clip, we’re approaching a set of traffic lights on green. As we get closer, the light changes to amber β€” and this is where an important decision needs to be made.

According to the Highway Code, if it’s safe to stop, you must stop. In this case, there was plenty of time and distance to do so… but we continued. We crossed the stop line just as the light turned red ❌

Afterwards, the learner explained they didn’t see the stop line and expected it to be after the traffic light. A common misunderstanding β€” but the stop line is always positioned before the lights (usually about a metre), so it’s clearly visible as you approach.

πŸ‘‰ Key takeaway:
Always look well ahead, anticipate light changes, and identify the stop line early. Good observation = safer decisions.

Watch the clip and see if you would have made the same call πŸ‘‡

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Grace who passed her driving test today! πŸš—

She passed at Atherton Test Centre with only 2 driving faults – a brilliant result and very well deserved.

It’s been great seeing the progress and the confidence grow with every lesson. Today all the hard work paid off!
