What an absolutely amazing night doing some charity support work at the Tower of London with yeomen warden Lee fox,who is doing the great river race to raise awareness for certain charity’s MND Association RNLI Veterans Aid & the Ahoy centre. The race consists of lots of rowing boats travelling 21.6 miles along the Thames river, starting in Millwall in the east to Richmond in the west.and going under the major bridges of London
I had managed to arrange a massive basket of triumph motorbike goodies, kindly supplied by J S Gedge Triumph and Trevor Gedge & J S Gedge Clothing & Accessories which will be auctioned of at the finishing line/after party on the day of the race
The deal was to have a drink in the keys pub within the Tower of London, which is a very exclusive place, you cannot obtain tickets to visit the keys, you must be invited personally by one of the yeomen wardens,we of course were allowed in as lees guests, such a fabulous thing to experience after all the years of doing support work for the tower in various ways, that really was the icing on the cake,so to speak for me.to be able to step foot in those hallowed grounds and also to be able to chill and have a couple of drinks with some of the yeomen wardens.we were extra lucky because Lee had also put us on to one of the small intimate evening tours and then another extra surprise was that we were also put on to the ceremony of the keys tour,it’s very hard to get tickets for that one.they sell out so fast, unfortunately I couldn’t record that aspect as it would have been a security breach but let’s just say it was an amazing end to a very special night. A once in a lifetime opportunity
