Coronation Street Star Riordan Joined by Inspirational Jonathan Pearcey for PSD Vehicle Rental SPF Celeb Bowls
We are delighted to announce another fantastic pairing for this year’s The Steve Prescott Foundation Celeb Bowls in association with Bartons Pickles, as Coronation Street star Jude Riordan will team up with inspirational campaigner Jonathan Pearcey at the event on Saturday 8th August at the Unison/Nalgo sports bar in St Helens.
Jude has been a tremendous supporter of the Steve Prescott Foundation for many years, giving his time to help raise vital funds for the charity and its beneficiaries. His portrayal of Sam Blakeman in Coronation Street has captured the hearts of millions, with his performances over the past few months receiving widespread praise for their maturity, sensitivity and emotional depth. Despite his busy filming schedule, Jude continues to support charitable causes, and everyone at the Foundation is incredibly grateful for his ongoing commitment.
Joining Jude will be the inspirational Jonathan Pearcey, better known to thousands of followers on Instagram as . Jonathan has become one of the UK’s best-known cheese experts, judging prestigious cheese competitions across Europe and earning a loyal following within the artisan cheese community through his passion, knowledge and infectious personality.
Away from the world of cheese, Jonathan is currently facing the biggest challenge of his life after being diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP), a rare form of cancer. He is currently receiving specialist treatment at one of the Steve Prescott Foundation’s beneficiaries, The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, where he is receiving outstanding care and support.
Rather than allowing the disease to define him, Jonathan has chosen to fight back with remarkable determination. Recently, he completed a 26-mile charity hike for Cancer Research UK, demonstrating the same resilience and positive mindset that inspired so many during Steve Prescott MBE’s own cancer journey.
Like Steve, Jonathan believes in preparing himself both physically and mentally for the battle ahead. By getting himself into the best possible condition, he hopes to give himself every opportunity to take on this terrible disease with courage, strength and determination.
The Steve Prescott Foundation believes Jonathan’s story will inspire countless others facing similar battles.
SPF Ambassador Fraser Dainton has recently produced a moving taster video introducing Jonathan’s journey. Over the coming weeks, the Foundation will share more about Jonathan’s condition, his inspiring outlook on life and the challenges that lie ahead as he continues his fight against PMP.
The pairing of Jude Riordan and Jonathan Pearcey perfectly reflects what the Steve Prescott Foundation is all about—bringing inspirational people together to make a real difference.
Martin Blondel, General Manager of the Steve Prescott Foundation, said:
“It is fantastic to have the support of two such inspirational people. Jude has been a wonderful supporter of the Foundation for many years and continues to give his time despite his busy acting career. Jonathan’s courage, positivity and determination are truly inspiring, and we know his story will touch so many people. We look forward to welcoming them both to what promises to be another unforgettable day as we continue Steve Prescott MBE’s incredible legacy.”
The PSD Vehicle Rental SPF Celeb Bowls in association with Barton’s Pickles takes place on Saturday 8th August at the Unison/NALGO Club, Bishop Road, St Helens.
