The Purple cow is on leave this weekend for some well earned rest and will be returning to the roads Monday, so I'm unavailable for call outs or work. I will still be available for quotes ect over the weekend.

This weekend the Purple Cow dealt with a different kind of horsepower.

Many of my recent customers will know that I've been waiting for this boy to come home, in my down time I down tools and care for my three horses. This is our Big Boy known affectionately as King Bob 👑. He's been away for what seems like forever at Barwick Equestrian having training so we are able to ride him. It's taken 4 years of hard work and doing all the training we could from the ground and we couldn't be prouder.

Today's job of the day.

Don of Brickaneer Bay Studios got hold of me last week with a poorly Honda Jazz. I got to the bottom of the issue, one dead injector.

After waiting for the part it arrived today and I let him know I was free and he joked that he was at St Mawes Castle all evening. So what's a mechanic to do.

I met up with him and got his Jazz all fixed and sorted in no time at all. The car is all sorted and now Don can get up hills again without taking a run up. All done without Don having to change his plans and what a stunning location to work!

Today's feel good moment came after a lovely lady contacted me about her beloved bongo.

After being stuck for 7 months with several people looking at it and coming up with nothing the Purple Cow took the challenge. After testing everything I could I found the solution for her, ordered the parts and got her pride and joy moooving.

Turns out this lady learnt to ride where our stables are and we had a good chat about that while I was arms deep in the engine bay 😊

It's jobs like this that make me go home proud everyday.

One unlucky customer today, broke down on the way home after enjoying a Cornish break. They were lucky in another way, their car decided to throw off a belt just as the water pump gave up and managed to keep all the bits in the pump. They gave me a call and I got them fixed and back on the road, an unusual one for me as I spent half the day working in Menacuddle Well.

Proud Purple Cow Moment!

Today my boy affectionately known as the Purple calf finished his last day at Primary School.

He received an award to recognise his willingness to help others, always knowing the right thing to do and having time for anyone who needs help. He even disappeared on Sunday to help a classmate who had been in a car accident after the lad asked for someone to call him.

I couldn't be prouder of him.

Keep an eye out this summer as he will be riding in the van with me helping me to keep you all moooving 🐮🛠️

It's been a while, the purple cow has been busy!

It's Monday so it's time for the tip of the week.

If one wheel feels hotter than the others after a drive, your brake could be sticking.
That’s a classic early sign of a seized caliper - get it checked before it gets expensive. It's something I've seen a lot of recently.

Message me today if you’ve noticed heat, drag, or a change in pedal feel. I’ll get it sorted quickly and safely.

It's Monday and it's time for the Purple Cow tip of the week, yes I know I've missed a few!

If your car makes a metallic rattle while idling, it’s often just a loose heat shield vibrating on the exhaust.

It sounds dramatic, but it’s usually a quick, inexpensive fix, a couple of clips or bolts and it’s sorted.If you hear a rattle like a tin can under the car, give me a shout and I’ll check it’s nothing more serious.
