As our Australian counterparts might say… “You lil rippa!”

And that’s exactly what happened here. 😂

These tyres have quite literally ripped around the sidewall, and once they were removed the extent of the damage was pretty clear.

No repair. No second chance. Just time for some fresh, safe rubber. 🛞

Tyres can sometimes hide serious damage until they’re removed, which is why a proper inspection matters. If something doesn’t look or feel right, don’t take the chance.

🔩 IT’S FAIR TO SAY THIS ONE IS ABSOLUTELY SCREWED… LITERALLY. 😂

We see plenty of punctures that can be safely and professionally repaired.
This isn’t one of them. 👀

With the screw going through the shoulder and into the sidewall area, there’s no legal repair that can save this tyre. It’s game over and time for a replacement. 🛞

🔥 WHEN “JUST A SET OF TYRES” TURNS INTO THE BEST PART OF A DAY… 😂

Every now and then, something a little bit special rolls into Wight Tyres.

This incredible vintage fire truck, now converted into a camper, came in needing some new rubber.

Sounds straightforward enough…
Until you discover the tyres haven’t been changed for OVER 20 YEARS! 😳🛞

At that point, you can pretty much kiss goodbye to the best part of the day.

Old tyres, old wheels and more than two decades of everything being firmly acquainted with each other meant this wasn’t going to be a quick job. But the team rose to the challenge, took their time and got the job done properly.

No shortcuts. No rushing it out the door. Just plenty of patience, experience and probably a few choice words along the way. 😂

And what a machine to work on! You certainly don’t see one of these pulling into the depot every day.

Now wearing some much-needed fresh rubber and ready for plenty more adventures as a camper. 🚒🏕️

Definitely one of the coolest vehicles we’ve had through the doors!

We owe you all a little apology. We’ve been very quiet on social media over the last few weeks.
Not because there’s been nothing going on… quite the opposite! We’ve been absolutely flat out looking after our customers and simply haven’t found the time to show you what we’ve been up to.

So, we thought we’d make our return with something suitably chunky! 🛞💪

This JCB telehandler needed us after picking up a puncture, and our mobile team got it repaired and back to work.

😂 ANOTHER DAY. ANOTHER HEAVY LIFTER. ANOTHER SET OF REAR TYRES.

We’re starting to see a bit of a recurring theme here… 👀

This time it was a Manitou needing some fresh rubber on the rear, so the mobile van was back out doing what it does best, keeping the Island’s commercial vehicles, plant and machinery moving. 💪🛞

Two old tyres off. Two new tyres on. Job done. Customer back to work. ✅

And yes… before anyone spots it in the photos, the battle scars are still on the back of our new van. 😂

Unfortunately, our insurers appear to be operating on a slightly different definition of “getting the job done” to us.

They’re still dragging their heels getting the accident damage repaired.

Good job we don’t operate the same way. 😏

While we wait for them, we’ll just keep turning up, getting stuck in and keeping our customers moving.

🏎️ TOKYO DRIFT: FORKLIFT EDITION 😂

This little green heavy lifter has clearly spent a few too many years thinking it was starring in The Fast & The Furious: Forklift Drift. 😂

The rear tyres had certainly seen better days, so it was finally time to retire the slicks and give it some proper new rear shoes. 🛞🛞

Out came the mobile van, off came the old rubber and on went a fresh pair, giving this little workhorse the grip, traction and longevity it actually needs.
