Another Jaguar I-PACE back on the road with full heating restored ⚡️🔧
This 2023 Jaguar I-PACE came in with a failed high-voltage coolant heater, leaving the customer without proper cabin heating and, more importantly at this time of year, no effective windscreen defrosting.
Normally, replacing a heater sounds fairly straightforward…
Unfortunately, in JLR’s infinite wisdom, they decided the ideal place to hide this vital component was directly above a 610kg high-voltage battery. 😅
So before we could even get near the heater, the vehicle had to be safely powered down and the complete HV battery lowered from the car.
Once access was gained, the failed HV coolant heater was removed and replaced. The 610kg battery was then refitted, the high-voltage system recommissioned, and the heater cooling circuit vacuum-filled and bled.
We then carried out the required software and programming updates, followed by a full road test to confirm everything was operating correctly.
✅ Cabin heating restored
✅ Windscreen defrost working properly
✅ HV system recommissioned
✅ Software updated
✅ Fully tested and returned to a happy customer
And just in time too — with the colder October mornings arriving, at least the customer can now defrost his I-PACE without having to reach for the kettle! 🥶😂
At Cam Autos Rutherglen, we carry out advanced EV and hybrid diagnostics and repairs, including high-voltage batteries and components that often require considerably more than simply plugging in a diagnostic machine.
