We had a Audi TT with engine failure due to alternator belt tensioner failing. The alternator belt has snapped and was caught on the cambelt which has resulted in the cambelt jumping few teeth and bending the valves.

The engine was replaced with lower millage engine. New timing belt, water pump and brand new tensioner and belt fitted.
