30 competitors aged 3-8 took part in an ACU Electric Balance Bike event to encourage the next generation of enduro riders. All riders
enjoyed a five minute practice session to learn the track, before the main races started.

Split into three groups, 12”, 16” and 18”, competitors could use Revvi, OSET or similar electric machines to enjoy 3x5 min motos, with an overall winner being determined in each class.

At just £5 to enter, riders, parents and supporters enjoyed a fantastic morning, with Witley MCC tee-shirts and finishers medals given to all riders, and awards presented to the winners by landowner Lady Louise Burrell.

Race Organiser and 3x ISDE Silver Medallist Daniel Alldred said:
“We wanted to start these events to support the next generation of enduro riders. It’s fantastic to see the kids enjoying time on bikes at a friendly competitive event.”

Club Chairman, Ian George said:
“Hosting this event as part of the Dragons Enduro weekend is a great way to support the club members of the future. I’d encourage other clubs to run similar events.”

Club ACU SuperEnduro kicks off on the Isle of Man!

A new Super Enduro track has been built on the Isle of Man with former World Championship rider, Danny McCanney at the helm.

Building on his experience of international events, Danny wanted to create a Super Enduro track suitable for both practice sessions and competition, given there are very limited bespoke facilities across the UK and Europe. The track itself features a range of obstacles including logs, tyres, rocks with large bermed corners allowing riders to try their hand at this unique enduro discipline.

The first event has been held and it was a fantastic success, encouraging riders of all abilities to have a go. After contacting the ACU Enduro Commission, a new set of regulations were drawn up for Club level Super Enduro, and a permit was issued to encourage this new club event.

Danny McCanney said: “We’re proud to be building a permanent Super Enduro facility on the Isle of Man and it was encouraging to see riders of all abilities enjoy our first event. We hope to be hosting many more over the coming months and years and are thankful to the ACU for their support”.

Tristan Robinson (ACU Enduro Commission Chairman) said: “It’s fantastic to see enduro sport developing on the Island, and the ACU are pleased to support the Club in their activities. Particular thanks must go to Andy Waters for drawing up the new Super Enduro regulations, and to Matthew Edwards-Wear for his work on the new Permits. We wish Danny, Blanaid and the club every success for Super Enduro in the future.”

Campaign supports riders who take action to protect the future of legal on and off-road motorcycling

With the support of the National Motorcyclists Council (NMC), the Trail Riders Fellowship (TRF) and Auto Cycle Union (ACU) alongside the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) and other motorcycle sector partners have joined forces to launch Ride Right (www.rideright.org.uk). This is a national campaign to protect the future of legal on and off-road motorcycling in the UK.

Motorcycle trail riding on unsealed roads and also off-road sport are part of Britain’s countryside heritage. Responsible riders explore around 6,000 miles of legal unsealed green roads (part of the highways network) across England and Wales, or compete at venues and events managed by the ACU as the national Governing Body, plus clubs and other event organisers. For the vast majority, this is a responsible, joyful, and lawful pursuit, with quality of life, health and wellbeing benefits — as legitimate as mountain biking or horse riding.
