This Audi A4 came into us with the heart sinking sound of a engine with no compression.

A quick investigation found the timing belt tensioner stud had worked loose, causing the timing belt to pop off, resulting in major engine damage.

We removed the cylinder head and had it overhauled, replaced the cylinder head gasket set, and fitted a modified timing belt tensioner stud.

A replacement timing belt kit with water pump was then fitted and a full service carried out. Now running and driving better than ever.

A very lucky escape for this customer.

We got called out to this vehicle after the customer complained of a strange noise from the engine bay, after removing the upper cambelt cover it was clear to see that it wasn’t safe to drive this vehicle any further without the risk of serious engine damage.

Recovery was arranged and carried out by Hampshire transport solutions, after stripping down the cambelt the cause of failure was identified as a faulty water pump, causing the timing belt to rub against the metal engine mount and wear the belt away.

Timing belt, water pump and drive belt replaced and back on the road within 24 hours of being recovered to the workshop.

Do it once, do it right!

First service for this 2021 Ford Transit.

All genuine parts used to maintain the vehicles warranty, carried out at a fraction of the main dealer price.

We completed this service out of hours so the van could still continue a full days work, causing no inconvenience to the business and it’s customers.

Thanks again to Leaves Building and Maintenance Contractors for trusting us with their fleet of vans.

2011 Suzuki Alto.

This customer was complaining of a grinding noise when driving.

The fault was diagnosed as a faulty gearbox. A gearbox rebuild wasn’t economically viable for this vehicle, so we managed to source a good second hand replacement for the customer to keep the cost down.

Once the gearbox was removed you can see just how noisy the gearbox was, and how much play was in the input shaft.

Replacement gearbox fitted with a new 3 piece clutch kit and fresh gear oil.

Always happy to go the extra mile for our customers.

Lovely 2015 Jaguar XJ L in for a much needed full service.

Unfortunately another victim of poor previous servicing.

The air filter was up there with one of the worst I’ve ever seen….. yes that’s a cigarette! 😀

The brake fluid had a high water moisture content and the rest of the filters were in a poor state also.

All filters replaced, brake fluid flushed and a thorough full service carried out.

Now back to driving how it should!

2009 Vauxhall Corsa timing chain replacement.

This vehicle came into us with a horrible rattle from the engine bay, it was quickly diagnosed as a failing timing chain.

Over time the chains stretch and the plastic guides wear, causing the chain to have to much slack and therefore rattle.

Full chain kit with guides, pulleys, chain and tensioner replaced, and now running nice and quietly.

Do it once, do it right!

Gone off screen wash 🤢

I’ve had to remove and clean 3 washer bottles this week due to the bottles being full of sludge and the washer jets no longer working.

This is often caused by the concentration of screen wash/water being to high. Be sure to check if your screen wash is pre mixed or concentrate, if it’s concentrate you only need a very small amount, and the rest topped up with water.

Most of the time the only way to rectify this is to fully remove the tank for a deep clean and flush the lines, worst case you’ll need a new screen wash pump.
