We had this stunning F-Type R in for a 96 month service including a diff oil change. We are noticing the rear subframes on F-Types are crusty more often than not, so this car also received a full rear subframe lanogaurd treatment to protect it from unwanted corrosion.

Spec wise this thing is absolutely beautiful, do you get down with the red interior? Or is it too much?đź‘€

We’ve just had 3 lovely new arrivals here at Swallows ready for viewings so let’s talk you through them!

Up 1st is a lovely 2015 Jaguar XF Sportbrake 2.2d Luxury finished in Stratus Grey with a Ch*****ne leather interior. A great-looking, practical estate that’s ideal for long weekends away, with rear self-levelling air suspension making it well suited to towing, too. Backed by an extensive history file and nicely specified with heated front and rear screens, parking sensors, DAB, Bluetooth and paddle shift. A proper all-rounder with plenty of Jaguar character. £6,250

Then we have a 2018 Jaguar E-PACE S P200 AWD, finished in Italian Racing Red Metallic with an Oyster leather interior. We recently had this Range Rover in for an electrical fault where the secondary battery was not charging. The customer informed us to try and rectify it they replaced the following - alternator, gateway module, dual battery module, both batteries, quiescent drain module and battery monitoring module. These parts alone could equate to nearly ÂŁ3,000 before labour.

When the car came to us we carried out a full diagnostic investigation into the warning on the dashboard and a secondary battery that wasn’t charging.

Initial checks identified communication faults between the Gateway Module, Battery Monitoring System and Quiescent Current Control Module. Further testing of the LIN communication network helped narrow the fault down to the wiring rather than the modules themselves.

After checking the power supplies, earths and signal outputs, we traced the issue to an inline connector at the base of the passenger-side A-pillar. On inspection, there were signs of previous water ingress, with a broken female pin preventing a reliable connection.

We temporarily bridged the wiring to confirm the diagnosis, and the LIN signal returned to normal. The dashboard warning disappeared and the secondary battery began charging again.

We then carried out the necessary wiring repairs, replaced the affected pins, cleaned up the connector and retested the system to confirm everything was working correctly.

Another example of why proper diagnostics and testing are essential before replacing parts unnecessarily.

Whilst we love nothing more than fitting a new set of upgraded Tarox to a car, for the everyday driver, it’s not necessary. This XF S was suffering with some serious brake judder, after a quick road test we confirmed that it was infact the brakes. The customer ended up wanting discs and pads all round so we went ahead and completed that along with 2 new pad wear sensors.

A test drive after completion and the judder was all gone, back to smooth precise braking where the driver and passengers don’t feel like they are in an aggressive massage chair anymore💨

Today we are waking up to the release of the all new Jaguar Type 01. With the radical concept design we all saw a few years back, Jaguar hasn’t strayed far. However the subtle tweaks in, in our opinion, have changed the car for the better.

Well proportioned, long bonnet, ultra-low roofline, sharp angles and straight lines with wheels that are over half the height of the car.

An all electric four door GT using 3 motors and all wheel drive producing up 1,030PS and 1,365Nm. 0-62 takes a mere 3.2 seconds, light speed movement from this modern day luxury yacht on wheels.

It uses an 118kWh usable battery and an 850-volt electrical architecture. With Jaguar quoting up to 450 miles WLTP range and 200miles of range from a 23 minute charge.

This isn’t just a design exercise, the Type 00 showed us where Jaguar was going. The Type 01 proves they are serious about getting there.

A serious overhaul on this Jaguar XKR, bringing it back to where it should be.

We started with a thorough inspection which highlighted worn suspension bushes and arms, split track rod boots, ageing tyres, a small exhaust blow and the tell-tale knock from the supercharger nose cone.

The car then underwent a major mechanical refresh, including Powerflex bushes throughout, new suspension arms and track rods, new shock bushes, Tarox discs and pads all round, a full brake bleed and four-wheel alignment.

Under the bonnet, we replaced the supercharger nose cone and oil, water pump, thermostat and associated cooling components, upgrading a number of the vulnerable pipes to metal and SR silicone items in the process.

The exhaust centre section was also replaced with an SR item, and the final piece of the puzzle was a full set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres.

A huge amount of work, but the result is a Jaguar that should now be ready to enjoy properly for many more miles.
