Another lovely Audi S3 booked in today, this one was in for an oil change service, S-tronic oil and filter change and a Haldex oil change. While carrying out the Haldex oil change we additionally remove the Haldex pump and check the pumps gauze filter as they can become blocked causing the pump to fail, this one was one of the worst we have seen. The filter was cleaned before refitting and the fresh oil put back in the Haldex unit.

A VW Golf in today with a water leak from one of the rear doors, it turned out that the water seal on the speaker had failed. Unfortunately the speaker cracked while drilling out the rivets so had to be replaced.

One of our regular T5.1 campervan customer's booked in for rough running. I had a very good idea what the fault was by asking the right questions while booking the customer in, which is part of the VW group Master Tech training. So if you get lots of questions while trying to book in there's a reason behind it I'm trying to pre-empt the job, work out how long it's going to take and to pre-order any parts in a couple of days in advance.

Once the customer dropped off a full diagnostic scan was carried out and the fuel pressure was checked with the diagnostic tester. The high fuel pressure was all over the place, the red line in the graph, the red line should closely match green line.

A replacement fuel pressure regulator was required that we had in stock ready to fit. Once the regulator was fitted and adapted to the control unit the engine was running correctly again.

The low mileage VW Polo that we had in last month for a full service was back in today for a cambelt replacement.
