We are pleased to have delivered five new Mellor Maxima vehicles to the Enfield Council for its SEND transport service, marking the council’s first order with Mellor.

When its previous vehicle went out of production, Enfield saw an opportunity to do more than simply replace it. The council wanted a vehicle built around the children who use the service every day, and the Maxima delivers just that. With 24 comfortable seats, a smooth and quiet ride from its 8-speed automatic gearbox, and an underfloor cassette lift offering safe, step-free access.

Julian Minta, Head of Fleet & Transport Operations at the London Borough of Enfield, commented: “Mellor provided a cost-effective solution and a quality product for use within the SEND Transport service. Excellent lead times and adherence to delivery schedules allowed us to get the vehicles into service in a timely manner without any disruption to services.”

The Maxima now represents around 7% of Enfield’s fleet, and we are proud to support the borough in delivering safe, comfortable transport for its passengers.

The rollout has begun! 🚌

We’ve started delivering 33 new Mellor Strata Plus low floor buses to West Yorkshire’s AccessBus service, helping make everyday journeys easier and more accessible for older passengers and people with additional mobility needs.

This delivery marks an important step in supporting more inclusive, accessible transport across West Yorkshire.

A big thank you to our partners at West Yorkshire Combined Authority for trusting us to deliver these vehicles. We look forward to seeing them making a difference on the road.

Following the success of last year's intake, we're looking for our next Apprentice Vehicle Converters to join the team at Mellor in Rochdale.

Every Mellor bus starts life on our production line. As an apprentice, you'll play a part in bringing each vehicle together, learning new skills every day while working alongside an experienced team and studying towards a Level 2 Fitted Interiors Installer qualification with Hopwood Hall College.

Our apprentices are an important part of the Mellor team, and we're excited to welcome the next group to start their careers with us.
