Porsche Macan arrived with a troubling engine noise once warm. A swift diagnosis pinpointed a stretched timing chain. Upon closer inspection, we discovered significant wear on the camshaft adjuster teeth, forcing their replacement. All parts were sourced directly from a Porsche dealer, resulting in a fully resolved issue and a very satisfied customer

There is two garages within close proximity, with very similar names. This is creating confusion with some of our customers who are attending or contacting the wrong one.

We recently had a Polo GTI come into our garage with a persistent misfire, a problem that other garages hadn't been able to crack. Our team quickly got to work, and a cylinder leak test swiftly pinpointed the issue: a bottom-end failure. After removing the engine for a closer look, we found a failed piston. We then expertly reconditioned the engine, and soon enough, the Polo GTI was back with its owner, running perfectly.

We recently had an Audi SQ5 in the shop experiencing timing chain noise. Upon engine removal and inspection, we discovered the guide rail bolts had backed out, causing the timing to jump. After installing a new timing chain kit and bolts, the SQ5 is back on the road and running perfectly. Interestingly, the timing chain had been replaced previously at Audi 😬😬

Mercedes A-Class, currently non-running. Quick diagnosis revealed a failed head gasket, a known issue with the new triangle cylinder head design shared across Mercedes, Nissan, and Renault. Straight forward repair.

Golf GTI arrived with reported engine oil leaks. Upon inspection, multiple leaks were quickly identified from the sump and timing covers, along with a coolant leak from the water pump. The customer chose to replace the timing chain kit, future proofing the engine for many more miles.

BMW 116d N47 timing chain failures seem to be the theme this week 🤯. We rescued another one! Recovered from the customer's home, engine stripped and assessed within hours. Great news – we could save it! Rebuilt with a new timing chain kit, main and big end bearings, rocker arms, etc. The amazing team at Walkers gets you back on the road faster than anyone else!
