LAND ROVER INGENIUM TIMING CHAIN PROBLEMS
If you own a Land Rover or Range Rover fitted with an Ingenium petrol or diesel engine, you may have heard about the dreaded timing chain problems.
Common warning signs can include:
* Rattling on start-up
* Constant rattling while driving
* Rattle when the stop/start system kicks in
* Engine Management Light (EML)
* Camshaft/crankshaft position or correlation fault codes, commonly including P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0340 and P0341 depending on the engine and fault
You may have already visited a garage and been told the words nobody wants to hear:
“Your timing chains are noisy.”
Fear not! We replace Ingenium timing chains on a regular basis. Unfortunately, our experienced technicians are currently replacing at least one set a week.
We use genuine Land Rover timing chain components only. We’ve found that the small saving offered by aftermarket kits simply isn’t worth the risk. We’ve seen various aftermarket components fail, whereas we’ve had excellent results using genuine parts.
Land Rover has also updated various components over time, helping to reduce the chances of the same problem occurring again.
This is a lengthy repair. On these engines, significant dismantling is required, including gearbox removal, to gain access to the timing chain assembly.
