Yamaha MT09, 2022.

Always a pleasure working on the MT09. Easy to work on and always responds exceptionally well to a tailored suspension set up.

This one felt great once it was dialled in. You felt like part of the bike. Planted, stable, precise and comfortable. So much easier to ride plus more fun and safer.

Ducati 998, 2001.

The owner had flown in from California and then planned to take the bike to France in a van and do some touring on the beautiful roads there.
No time to waste as he was setting off immediately once the Ducati was dialled in with a tailored suspension set up.

I found many areas where the handling could be optimised further and set to work promptly.

The owner would let me know how it felt once he was at his destination in France and ventured out.
He was not disappointed!

Beauty of a bike and gleaming.
Straight out of the crate there’s plenty of handling improvements available from the stock bike.
This brand new bike was a good example.

The owner was very happy with the results:
Improved braking (excessive fork dive eliminated)✅
Geometry improved so steering is lighter, precise and cornering is a lot of fun✅
Improved composure/stability so you feel can feel the connection to the road✅
Fun✅
Safety✅

Suzuki Gsxr750k8, 2008.

The owner was pointed in my direction from his biking pals and was keen to get some extra performance from his Gsxr750.
He felt the rear was soft and was spot on!
I soon found other issues but the good news is there are big margins to improve.

I’m very familiar with all the Gsxr models and know what makes them tick.
It responded well!

Agility without sacrificing stability✅

Yamaha YZF R1, 2003.

The owner was not happy and had lost confidence in the handling. He felt something was wrong and others said the same when asked for a second opinion.

Can it be improved? Hope so! I’ve set up many of these over the years. Let’s have a closer look and road test.

As usual the riders are always right when they have concerns.
I found several areas where the handling could be improved and the combined adjustments added up to some sweet handling gains as well as improving the rider’s confidence.

BMW S1000rr, 2025.

Almost new bike, but always room for improvement in my experience.
Out on the road I found stability issues as the geometry was a bit too sharp. This was also reflected in the forward sloping (uncomfortable) riding position.
Comfort and stability were soon restored after several tweaks and test rides.
Owner reported:

Kawasaki ZX10R, 2022.

The owner has visited many times over the years and some of my lectures have clearly soaked in.
I set this up just a few months ago and he felt it had lost some support and was a bit soft.

Sure enough he was spot on. The front had also lost some stability and was very slightly oversteering.

This complimentary re-fresh is all part of the service I offer, if returning within 3 months.

A perfect example of how suspension does go out of sync over time and use.

Triumph Speed Triple R, 1050. 2016.

The owner was not happy with the feel from his Speed Triple R and wanted to see if it could be improved.

I like the Speed Triples as they’re easy to work on and have great potential to improve the handling from stock with a custom suspension set up.
It didn’t disappoint.

Seeing quite a few of these lately. The secret has got out😂
Lots of scope to improve the handling from standard. No need to spend a fortune on aftermarket suspension upgrades, the standard kit provides decent returns.

Didn’t take long to transform the handling on this MT09 and the owner agreed. He returned after his road test with a big smile and said “it’s a whole different bike”.

Yamaha Tracer 900GT, 2019.

The owner wanted me to look at the suspension as it felt different lately. He felt the front was not precise when cornering and not giving confidence.
Challenge accepted!
As always, when a rider feels there are handling issues, they are 100% correct.
Finding the cause requires checks, measurements and the all important road test. It has to be ridden, otherwise how would you know if you improved the handling?
The Tracer 900GT is very easy to work on and I could adjust the remote preload adjust while on the move.
The MT09’s and Tracer 900’s are a favourite for me as they also respond very well to the suspension adjustments.
The owner thought so too. He came back with a big smile saying: “It’s a different bike”👌🏻🙏
