👀 Not everything is as it appears.

To the naked eye, an air conditioning system can look absolutely fine.

But with UV dye and specialist equipment, the real fault starts to reveal itself.

It’s another reason why we don’t just “top the gas up” and hope for the best.

We test. We diagnose. We prove the fault.

Now look at the condenser. 😬

This is exactly why we keep banging on about following the correct process.

If your air con has lost its gas, there is usually a reason.

At Shaw’s we pressure test first. We check the system. We find the leak. Then we advise you properly.

Yes, it can take us a bit longer.

Yes, sometimes we want the car overnight.

But we would rather do that than chuck another load of expensive refrigerant into a leaking system and have you back in the same position a few weeks later.

We might not be the quickest “regas while you wait”.

But we’ll do our best to do it properly.

We hear this all the time.

This car didn’t need “just a regas” — it needed an air con condenser.

That’s why we don’t just chuck gas in and hope for the best.

If the gas has gone, there is usually a reason.

So we follow the correct process:

✅ Check the system
✅ Pressure test it
✅ Find the leak
✅ Repair the fault
✅ Then regas it properly

A quick regas on this one would have been a complete waste of the customer’s money.

❄️ Mr Freeze has been busy this week… ❄️

We’ve had so many air con jobs through the doors that we’re now fully booked for AC work until Monday, and most repairs and diagnostics are booking into the week after.

If your air con isn’t working properly, please don’t leave it until the next hot day to try and get booked in.

We follow the correct process:

Pressure test first ✅
Regas only if the system holds ✅
No wasting your money by just “chucking gas in” and hoping for the best ✅

If your AC is weak, warm, noisy, or not working at all, get in touch and we’ll get you booked in as soon as we can.

That’s why we pressure test first.

If it passes, we can regas it properly.

TRAINEE APPRENTICE VEHICLE TECHNICIAN WANTED

Please share this or tag someone who might be looking for a real opportunity to start a career in the motor trade.

Shaw’s Service Station is looking for someone at the start of their journey who wants to learn properly and become a proper Vehicle Technician.

We’ve got the customers.
We’ve got the equipment.
We’ve got the experienced technicians.
We just need someone with the right attitude.

This is important:
We are not looking for someone who just “likes cars” and fancies having a go. We need someone reliable, willing to listen, happy to work hard, and serious about building a career.

What you’ll be doing:
• Learning in a real working garage
• Helping technicians with servicing, inspections, tyres, brakes, and general work
• Keeping the workshop clean and organised
• Learning how to follow process, take photos, record notes, and treat customer vehicles properly

What we’re looking for:
• Good attitude
• Reliable and punctual
• Willing to learn
• Not afraid of hard work
• Able to take feedback
• Comfortable using basic technology

No weekend working.
College or apprenticeship route to be discussed.

We’re off to the awards tonight 🏆

Shaw’s Service Station is proud to be shortlisted for **Best Customer Service** alongside some of the best garages in the country.

This one means a lot.

Customer service is something we genuinely pride ourselves on. From the first phone call, to clear communication, honest advice, proper job sheets and making the whole experience as stress free as possible, it’s a massive part of what we’re trying to build.

The motor trade can be tough, but we believe customers deserve to feel looked after, listened to and kept informed.
