Doris has been putting her foot down… sort of. 💨

Our hire van Doris recently headed off to santapodraceway with Meurig for a weekend of racing, camping and a fair bit of noise!

It’s fair to say Doris gets about a bit, one weekend she’s exploring the mountains, the next she’s parked up at a raceway.

That’s the beauty of hiring a campervan. You pick a destination, throw your bags in and off you go.

From Cornwall to AB Campers… and back on the road before lunch.

It’s a fair old journey from Cornwall, but for this Transit Custom owner, it was worth the trip.

He arrived at 8am, and by 11am he was back on the road home with a few important upgrades sorted.

We fitted a hard-wearing grey wood-effect vinyl floor with aluminium trims, plus our M1-tested 3/4 reverse-opening bed in Bentley Diamond upholstery.

More space to sleep, a floor that can handle proper van life, and a setup that’s ready for the next adventure.

Sometimes the long journey is worth it when you know you’re getting exactly what you want. 👌

If you’ve got an idea that you can’t find off the shelf, that’s where we come in.

We design and make loads of our own products right here in the workshop, which means we’re not tied to a catalogue of standard options.

You bring the idea. We’ll see what we can do with it.

And yes… sometimes making it happen involves a few sparks. 🔥

This is why we love what we do. ❤️

Every now and then, a few photos land in our inbox from our customer out enjoying their van, and it honestly never gets old.

These two are currently living the dream in France, starting in Brittany, exploring the ancient volcanoes of the Auvergne and now making their way through the Alps.

This Renault Master is a great example of why we love bespoke conversions.

Rather than trying to squeeze someone into a standard layout, we built the interior around how they wanted to use their van.

A bespoke low-level unit runs along the driver’s side, finished in gloss grey with a black sparkle worktop, alongside our M1-tested 3/4 bed with Bentley Diamond upholstery and matching kick boards.

We also reupholstered the front seats to match, bringing the whole van together nicely.

Because your van should work for you, whether that’s weekend escapes, longer trips or just having somewhere comfortable to disappear to.

Fancy building campervans for a living?

We’re growing. We’re opening another workshop and looking for someone practical, reliable and proud of doing a proper job.

You don’t necessarily need campervan experience. If you’re handy, enjoy making things, can use your initiative and don’t mind getting stuck in, we’d like to hear from you.

There’ll be a bit of everything, building and converting campervans, manufacturing our own products and helping keep other conversion companies stocked up too.

Work van by day. Weekend-ready by Friday.

This 2022 Transit Custom MSRT SWB came to us needing a proper rethink. We’ve converted it to a crew cab, insulated and ply lined it, added carpet, a new ceiling and hard-wearing vinyl flooring, plus extra spotlights front and rear.

And then there’s the seating… a genuine Ford 3-seater bench, reupholstered in matching MSRT fabric, finished off with a factory bulkhead.

Basically, it’s still ready for work Monday to Friday… but much more enjoyable when Friday afternoon rolls around. 😉

Doris has a new partner in crime!

After asking you lot to help us name our newest hire van, and there were some absolute golden nugget suggestions 😂

There were some seriously good suggestions, but in the end we decided there was only one person who deserved the honour of naming the newest member of the AB Campers family…

The summer so far has been a wild one at AB Campers, with our workshop full of customers turning their campervan ideas into reality.

As a result, our next available full conversion slots are now from October onwards. If you’ve been thinking about starting your build, now is the time to get the conversation started. Planning early gives us the time to understand how you want to use your van and create a conversion that’s built around you.
