This gorgeous Dino replica came in for some cooling diagnostics.
Owner states the cooling temp got really hot on the gauge and fan not working.
A quick check for leaks and then a further pressure test, confirmed coolant system is sealed, we then hooked the diagnostic to the control unit to read live data, after getting it up to temperature at 104°c the fan cut in and then turned off at 94°c exactly how it should..... A quick glimpse of the gauge on the dash which read over 140°c.

Told the customer that the wrong sensor had been fitted for that particular gauge on the dash and the cooling system was acting as it should. The customer took the vehicle away to replace the gauge and sensor.

Nothing exiting, but I did enjoy looking over the car as it warmed up, and the attention to detail in the build was just fantastic.

Got somthing strange or unusual with a Rover K-Series, then get in touch.

** Courtesy Car **

Just a gentle reminder for anyone that uses our Courtesy cars when your vehicle is in with us.

It is free to use, we dont charge for this privilege, all we ask is that you replenish the fuel that you use and take good care of it.
We try and make sure its clean and tidy after the last person that uses it. Sometimes this may not be possible due to it might come back in and go staight out again.

Now...... i have no problems in customers having animals in the car, i get it, I have dogs and various other animals, Sometimes you need to take them to the vet or out for a walk at the local dog walking site, again all I ask is to clean up after them and lay some kind of protection down, ( blanket or towel ) if your animal sheds hair or messes in the car, this includes toilet or muddy poor prints, can you please make sure you throughly clean it up and deodoarise.
Luckily we havent had any toilet accident yet, but it has taken me almost an hour just to remove pet hair from the back seat and the back of the drivers seat, even on the back of the head rest, where other customers will be in close proximity.

I am a very small business and that kind of time really matters to the day to day running of the business, not only that, it can delay booked work.

Again we dont charge for the use of these Courtesy Cars, but with costs rising in insurance, tax and servicing/repairs not including the extra time now taken to clean, I might have to either start charging to use or get rid of them. But for now, they are staying and will still be free to use.......

This MG3 was having trouble selecting gears, the pivot on the gear selection turret was badly worn, luckily this bit was available separately which saved buying a complete turret assembly. The gears now slot into place as they should.

Another little job was a leaking coolant pipe which was noted on MOT, but after several failed promises from the previous garage getting the part in, we managed to get one next day and fitted.

You guessed it.... yes we can work on the new Chinese MG's athough we dont see many of them as they seem to be quite well built.....

But this new MG ZS SUV came into us for the traction control and abs constantly cutting in. Turned out that the passenger wheel bearing had quite a bit of play, causing the sensor gap to became too great, thus the abs module thinking the wheel had locked up.....

A new genuine bearing was fitted and a road test had confirmed the fault was fixed.
