Looking around the garage when things finally go quiet, we sometimes wish people could see everything that goes into a day here. ❤️
We spend our days trying to help everyone who comes through the doors. Trying to find answers, fix problems, get someone back on the road, get a family back into their car, and figure out what to do when a repair turns into more than anyone expected.
And sometimes, all of that weighs heavily.
Because we know how difficult it is when you’re without your car. We know you’re having to ask for lifts, rearrange work, change your plans, and worry about how you’re going to get the kids where they need to be.
We also know that an unexpected repair bill can be a real worry. With the cost of living being what it is, we understand why people can be stressed before they’ve even picked up the phone.
Those conversations stay with us.
When someone tells us they need their car to get to work, take the kids to school, or simply keep everyday life going, we don’t just forget about it when the phone call ends.
We want to help. We want to find a solution. We want to have an answer.
One of the hardest parts of running a garage is wanting to make everything okay for everyone, while knowing that sometimes we simply can’t fix everything as quickly or as easily as we’d like.
There’s a lot of pressure on our technicians too.
Every car they work on belongs to someone who needs it. They’re working through difficult faults, trying to be thorough, and doing their best to get repairs completed while knowing there are other customers waiting.
Sometimes finding the fault takes longer than actually fixing it. Sometimes a part doesn’t arrive when expected. Sometimes you get further into a repair and discover something that simply couldn’t have been seen beforehand.
They feel that pressure.
We see how hard they work, and we appreciate them more than we probably say out loud.
And while all of that is going on, there’s the business itself to keep running. Answering the phones, ordering parts, preparing estimates, keeping customers updated, managing the diary, dealing with suppliers, paying the bills and making sure we can keep the doors open and look after the people who work here.
Some days it feels like ten things need dealing with at exactly the same time.
We’re sharing this because GB Autos means so much to us, and so do the people who trust us with their cars.
We take that responsibility seriously.
We’re human. We don’t always have an immediate answer, and sometimes things take longer than anyone would like. But we care, and we’ll always do our best to keep you informed, find a solution and get you safely back on the road.
To everyone who has been patient while we’ve been busy, given us the time to work through a problem, or simply shown our team a bit of kindness on a difficult day — thank you.
You probably don’t realise how much that means.
Thank you for choosing GB Autos, for recommending us to friends and family, for supporting our business and, most importantly, for trusting us with your cars.
We might be exhausted at the end of some of these busy days, but we’re incredibly grateful.
There are real people behind GB Autos, putting a lot of hard work, pride and heart into this place every single day. ❤️
