Customer rang with a Nissan qashqai reporting a problem that when the car was put into reverse or drive it would just cut out. Customer had been to another garage to be told nothing was wrong and bring it back when the engine management light comes on. That really didn’t solve the customers dilemma for them.

Quick phone call to us at Lanes Mobile Mechanics 07896 043 566 and we come out to were the vehicle was. System scanned for fault codes which previous garage said there was none. Scanned and codes for throttle position sensor were present and car was idling erratically at 2000-4000 rpm.

Throttle body taken off the vehicle and throughly cleaned along with mass air flow sensor. All put back together fault codes cleared, test driven and she’s running like a peach again no cutting out or erratic idling and one very chuffed customer 💪😁

Called out by a customer to look at there 2000 Honda prelude after it burnt the wires and melted the vehicle speed sensor and the customer repaired the wiring but still having the speedometer and limp mode fault and the windows and sun roof not to work or operate. After checking all the relays and fuses and wiring the customer was advised the fusebox/icu and further wiring could be fried due to a voltage spike.
