🚨 “I MIGHT START A RECOVERY COMPANY…” 🚨
I hear it all the time…
“All you need is a truck and a phone, don’t you?” 😂
If only it was that easy!
What people don't see is the £££££ that goes into keeping a recovery business on the road.
🚛 Proper recovery vehicles and equipment
🛠️ Keeping that equipment maintained
📋 Correct insurance and paperwork
⚖️ Understanding the rules and regulations
⛽ Fuel that somehow costs more every week 😖
💷 Tax, finance, servicing, tyres and repairs
📞 A phone that never seems to stop ringing
🌙 Early mornings, late nights and weekends
😴 Missing meals, sleep and family time
🚨 And being ready to deal with whatever turns up next!
Then there's the bit you can't buy…
EXPERIENCE.
🔵Knowing how to recover a vehicle that's stuck in gear.
🔵Knowing what to do when the wheels don't turn.
🔵Knowing how to move something that's damaged without making it worse.
🔵Knowing when a job isn't as straightforward as the customer thinks it is.
And most importantly…
🔵Knowing that someone's pride and joy is on the back of your truck and you'd better look after it!
Because buying a recovery truck doesn't automatically give you the knowledge, experience, reputation or customers to run a successful recovery business!
Anyone can buy a truck.
Building a business people actually trust?
That's the hard part.
And before anyone thinks im having a pop at people just starting out - we all started somewhere!
Nobody starts with years of experience, a fleet of trucks and a phone that won't stop ringing...
I didn't 🤷🏻♂️
You learn, you invest, you make mistakes, you improve, you build relationships and, most importantly, you put the graft in!
Every established recovery company was once the new bloke (or lady) with one truck and a dream 💭
The point isn't that starting a recovery business is impossible...
It's that keeping it running, building a reputation and consistently providing a service people can rely on is where the real work begins!
Ive spent years putting the equipment, experience, procedures, relationships and reputation together and im still grafting every single day!
And that's exactly why i put so much into giving my customers a top-class service every time 👌🏻
When you call me, you're not just paying someone to move your car from A to B.
You're paying for the experience behind the wheel, the equipment underneath it, the care i take with your vehicle and the peace of mind that it's being looked after properly 😎
I take pride in the service i provide because ultimately, that's what keeps customers coming back and recommending me 💪
So next time you see a recovery truck driving down the road, don't just think:
“Easy money, that.” 😂
There's usually a lot more behind it than you think 🚛
