Audi RS6 – 48V Battery BMS Repair

This Audi RS6 suffered a 48V battery BMS lock following a BSG alternator failure.
The customer sent the battery to us by post for repair.

We carried out the necessary BMS repair and reset, with the unit tested and ready to go back to the customer the same day it arrived.

No need to replace the complete 48V battery.

VW Transporter T6.1 – Virtual Cockpit and Discover Media MIB3 Upgrade

Immobiliser data transferred over along with the original van mileage.

Discover Media MIB3 activated with Satnav, Apple CarPlay, Sport Display and Voice Control. All necessary wiring added, software updated and functions activated.

Both systems coded to the van spec with ODIS and no faults left in the system.

VW Tiguan – OEM Cruise Control Retrofit

This VW Tiguan came to us for a standard Cruise Control (CCS) upgrade.

We supplied and fitted brand new OEM parts, followed by all the necessary coding to activate it.

Cruise Control is now fully operational and works exactly as it would if fitted from factory.

A useful upgrade, especially for those longer motorway journeys.

Skoda Enyaq – SOS Emergency Call Fault Repair

Another SOS fault sorted, this time on a fully electric Skoda Enyaq.

The vehicle came to us with an SOS Emergency Call warning displayed on the dashboard.

Following diagnostics, we managed to resolve the issue without replacing any parts.

We also checked the battery health while the vehicle was in our workshop and confirmed it was in good condition.

Everything tested, SOS system working correctly again and no related faults left in the system.

Another successful repair without unnecessary replacement parts.

A slightly unusual fault on this Golf MK8 today.

The car came to us with an SOS Emergency Call fault displayed on the dashboard.

Initial diagnostics pointed towards the backup battery, which was showing just 30% remaining life. We replaced the battery, but unfortunately the SOS warning was still there.

Time to dig a little deeper.
We connected ODIS and checked the relevant VW Technical Product Information (TPI). One of the bulletins pointed towards replacing the module cover.

Interestingly, the old and new covers looked absolutely identical, but the replacement had an updated part number.

We fitted the revised part and that was it — SOS fault gone and no more errors in the system.

A good reminder that sometimes the smallest component can cause a surprisingly awkward fault.

Skoda Octavia – Instrument Cluster Repair

A bit of old-school work in the workshop today.

This Skoda Octavia came to us with faulty speedometer needle illumination.

Rather than replacing the entire instrument cluster, we carried out some basic testing with a multimeter to identify the faulty component.

Once identified, the faulty component was removed and a replacement soldered onto the circuit board.

Everything reassembled and tested, with the speedometer illumination working perfectly again.

Sometimes a multimeter and a soldering iron are all you need.

VW Transporter T6.1 – Infotainment Software Update

Another T6.1 in with infotainment software issues. Something we’re seeing quite regularly now on these MIB3 systems.

Outdated software can cause all sorts of problems, including Bluetooth connectivity issues, Apple CarPlay not working correctly, intermittent sound, crackling audio and random system reboots.

Fortunately, many of these problems can be resolved with a software update rather than replacing the infotainment unit.

We can carry out these updates at our workshop while you wait, bringing the system up to the latest applicable software version.

Audi Q5 – Reverse Camera Replacement & Calibration

This Audi Q3 came to us with a faulty Reverse Camera.

We replaced the failed camera with a brand new OEM Audi part, followed by online coding with ODIS to match the vehicle’s original specification.

The new camera was then calibrated and all functions checked to make sure everything was working correctly.

Reverse Camera fully operational again, with no related faults left in the system. ✅

Mercedes A-Class W177 – 10.25” Digital Cockpit Upgrade

Something a little different in our workshop today.

This 2019 Mercedes A-Class W177 came to us for an instrument cluster upgrade, replacing the standard 7” display with the larger 10.25” version.

The car already had the High version of MBUX with a 10.25” infotainment screen, but the instrument cluster was still the smaller Entry version.

Unlike some other vehicles, this isn’t a simple plug-and-play upgrade. The complete display assembly needs to be replaced, along with the correct High version instrument cluster module.

Before fitting, we had to unlock the replacement module on the bench to allow it to be coded to the vehicle and retain the original mileage.

Once fitted, everything was coded to the car’s original specification, with all functions working correctly and absolutely no faults left in the system.

A proper factory-style upgrade, and a much better-looking dashboard!

VW Golf MK7 Japanese Import – UK Clocks Conversion

This Japanese import Golf MK7 came to us with the original km/h instrument cluster.

We replaced it with the correct UK mph clocks, transferring the immobiliser data along with the car’s original mileage.

New clocks coded, everything matched correctly and working as it should. 🇬🇧
