If they are 17-35, they could take advantage of our Young Driver Offer! The opportunity to be given some free guidance on sessions from mentors and a test at the end which "can provide" some insurance discounts.

For a £50 deposit which is paid back after the candidate had taken their advanced driving test (whether pass or fail does not affect being paid back). 🤑

Given the course when purchased directly is now £200, this offer funded by local public bodies is a great opportunity for anyone who was thinking of completing this course.

It is with the very greatest sadness about the passing of David Smith. We send our sympathy and sincere condolences to David's wife, Julie, their family and friends.

David did so much, very enthusiastically, for the RBAM group and in furthering the objectives of IAM. His knowledge, understanding, guidance, enthusiasm and friendship are greatly appreciated and will be sorely missed! Many of you might have had the privilage of having David as your Observer, or having had him do a Test Ready assessment drive with you.
There are many useful explanations and embellishments of the IAM RoadSmart system that David introduced to Associates and Observers, which a lot of us have adopted.

Having joined RBAM in 2001, David became Chair in 2012 and took on the role of Chief Observer for the Group in 2013. Individually, he qualified at Master level just over 5 years ago and was, for some time, the only Master in the Group and one of over 800 in the country. Requalification is required after five years and David retook the Masters test, gaining a Distinction.

When we lose someone who has contributed such a great deal over many years, that accumulated knowledge and expertise is hard to replace. We are finalising the details of a new Young Driver Initiative which David was heavily instrumental in as well as going into the expanded area of Observing which now includes part of the previous Kidderminster group as David would have desired.
