In today for a DPF clean is this range rover evogue. After carrying out a full diagnostics check and chatting with the customer, we came to the conclusion that the DPF could have blocked up due to previous work, which has been remedied or by around town driving. We carried out an on the vehicle clean due to mileage, reset fault codes and gave the vehicle an extensive test drive. After checking live data to confirm the DPF is healthy, the customer will receive their car back with the power restored.
We are DPF specialists and know the ins and outs of the DPF system. The diesel particle filter does not just block up on its own and 99% of the time it never needs replacing. We carry out a full diagnostics on the vehicle before carrying out any work to confirm the vehicle will be fixed after a clean. We can clean the DPF on the vehicle to remove the soot particles, or we can clean the DPF off the vehicle on a specialist machine, which removes the ash.

This mercedes came to us after having a faulty injector replaced which had blocked the DPF up. The faults stored for the DPF stopped the other garage being able to program the new injector. We cleaned the DPF which was 360% blocked down to 0% and advised the customer to return to the previous garage for them to program the new injector straight away

This l200 came in with codes relating to the DPF being blocked. After a lengthy diagnostics and a test drive reading some live data we finally figured out that one of the exhaust temperature sensors was fluctuating when driving. After a few more tests we decided that a new temperature sensor was needed along with the DPF clean. Had we have just cleaned the DPF it would have blocked straight back up within a week or 2.

Thus land rover discovery came to us with a blocked DPF and after a full diagnostics there was nothing g obvious as to why it had blocked up. After a chat with the customer we figured out that it must be down to driving style. Modern cars fitted with DPFs do not like short journeys. We cleaned the DPF and advised the customer on taking the vehicle for a longer drive than usual every couple of weeks.
