Looking back on a fantastic January! 🌲What an outstanding achievement from everyone who took part and helped to collect and recycle over 1,750 Christmas trees through our Thames Valley Treecycling scheme, with £27,356.19 raised from our local collection.

The money raised will help Sue Ryder reach more people when they really need it, so no one has to face death or grief alone.

Around 81 volunteers offered their time to support the collections, making this incredible fundraising achievement possible. A very special thank you to our volunteers and to all the businesses and groups who helped with the collections. Our Treecycling was supported by Rabbits Vehicle Hire and we were so lucky to have many more volunteer their time and resources too: Brakspear Pubs, HPS Reading, Field Seymour Parkes Solicitors, Kingshill, Cisco , Beechwood Tree Care Ltd, Collard Ltd, Layview, Grundon, Rec Solutions.

We’re delighted to be working with Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice and Sue Ryder Palliative Care Hub South Oxfordshire for another year of their amazing Christmas Treecycling scheme.

For the past four years, Rabbits Vehicle Hire has donated vans free of charge to help collect trees across the Thames Valley — and in 2024 the scheme saved 1,100 trees from landfill while raising vital funds for hospice care. A brilliant win for the environment and the community. 💚

We're on the lookout for a proactive and organised individual to join our busy Fleet Support Team at our Head Office in Caversham, Reading. If you enjoy problem-solving, coordinating logistics, and working in a fast-paced environment – this could be the perfect role for you!

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

- Booking and scheduling servicing, MOTs, PMIs, and other routine maintenance for our customers.
- Liaising with our in-house technicians and external garages.
- Coordinating vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups with customers.
- Managing and responding to vehicle breakdowns.
- Chasing up dealers, workshops, and third-party companies for updates on VOR vehicles (off the road due to mechanical issues, damage, or other concerns)

👤 What We're Looking For:

- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Confident dealing with customers, suppliers, and repair agents.
- Able to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
- Previous experience in a fleet, automotive, or service coordination role is an advantage – but not essential!

🎂 Happy Heavenly Birthday, Steve Dore 🎶

Today we celebrate the birthday of our much-missed Managing Director, Steve Dore. Steve was more than a leader — he was the driving force behind Rabbits Vehicle Hire. His vision, ambition, and sheer determination helped shape the company into what it is today.

Steve also had a lifelong passion for music, and we’re proud to share a recently released track featuring Steve on lead vocals — a hidden talent many never got to hear. Huge thanks to Clive Butler for allowing us to share this special song. Give it a listen – we always knew Steve had something special (even if he wasn’t quite Rod Stewart! 😂).
