In a yard full of heavy commercial vehicles, only 4 trucks are still running on something other than compressed natural gas. This isn’t a small-scale trial or a token sustainability initiative. It’s a clear sign that the transition to cleaner transport is already well underway.

We’re pleased to announce a new working collaboration between System Truck (Italy) and Astra Vehicle Technologies (UK).

The agreement enables both companies to share the commercial vehicle conversions they manufacture. Astra Vehicle Technologies will have access to System Truck conversions for the UK, while System Truck gains access to Astra Vehicle Technologies’ conversion solutions for sale across Europe and the rest of the world.

This reciprocal, OEM-focused collaboration combines European engineering capability with UK market integration to deliver compliant, well-supported conversion solutions internationally.

Over the past two years, AVT, in joint venture partnership with IVECO 🇬🇧, has delivered 160 biomethane 6×2 tractor units directly replacing diesel equivalents operating at 44 tonnes.

At an average of 120,000 km per year, each vehicle saves 118 tonnes of CO₂e annually.

Collectively, that equates to:

🌍18,880 tonnes of CO₂e saved every year

🚗 The equivalent of removing 8,580 cars from UK roads

🏡 Or powering 7,000 UK homes for a year

🌲 Or planting 944,000 trees

This is proven, working UK freight decarbonisation at scale.
