Well, this afternoon definitely turned into an interesting one 😅

I arrived early up in East Kilbride 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and decided to park just around the corner so I’d be close for my booking time. Another driver pulled up beside me and asked if I was heading to the same place, turns out I was. He told me there was a minimum 2-hour delay with six lorries already waiting to get on site… and no one was being let in 😱

Thankfully, it wasn’t long before I got the call to head in. I managed to get tipped, although I had to wait for a few others first. While I was sat there, I could see the tacho ticking down ⏰ Never the best feeling.

I popped into the office to check how long I’d be, only to find my paperwork already signed… but the red light was still on at the bay 🤦‍♂️

About 15 minutes later, I finally got my keys back, leaving me with just 4 minutes to get parked up 🚚💨💨 I pulled up with one minute to spare and hit the break button 👌🏻

No infringements today… and that’s always a win 😮‍💨

I am more than happy to help with any LGV (HGV) test enquiries.

🚨 HGV drivers arrested during Christmas drink and drug drive campaign in Wales 🚛🍺💊

HGV drivers across Wales have been arrested as part of the police’s annual Christmas drink and drug drive campaign.

🚓 One driver, Olegs Markusonoks, was arrested after being stopped on the A*5 near Bodelwyddan following a report from a concerned member of the public.
🧪 The 57-year-old failed a roadside breath test, was taken into custody and later charged with drink driving.

⚖️ He appeared before Llandudno Magistrates’ Court, pleaded guilty and was: 🚫 Disqualified from driving for 12 months
💷 Fined £500
📄 Ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £200 victim surcharge

🚔 North Wales Police also confirmed another HGV driver has been charged and will appear at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court next month.
📍 The 34-year-old was arrested on 10 December near Rhosneigr on Anglesey after failing a roadside breath test.

📊 Since the campaign began on 1 December, almost 100 arrests have been made: 🍺 36 for drink driving
💊 61 for drug driving

📈 There has been a 25% increase in roadside co***ne positives and a 117% rise in drug drive arrests compared with the same period last year.

🗓️ Most drug drive arrests occurred on Mondays, Tuesdays and Sundays, while drink drive arrests were highest on Saturdays and Sundays.

👮 Sergeant Emma Birrell from the roads crime unit said officers take a zero-tolerance approach year-round, with increased patrols throughout December. Operations across multiple locations also uncovered offences including no licence, no insurance, no MOT and mobile phone use.

🚦 Keeping roads safe for everyone this festive season.
