Vacancy: Motorcycle Maintenance and Motor Vehicle Maintenance Instructors.
Location: Blackpool FY1 2EP.
Starting salary range: £22,000 to £28,000 per annum.
Contract: Permanent - working term time plus 2 weeks.
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 4:00pm and Friday 8:30am to 3:00pm.
We are a leading vocational training provider and due to expansion, we are seeking and enthusiastic individuals for the roles of Motor Vehicle and/or Motorcycle Maintenance Instructors at Blackpool Training Centre.
Primarily, the posts will involve delivering Level 1 accredited motor vehicle and/or motorcycle subjects/courses to a diverse range of young people. In addition, when required, the successful applicant will also fill the role of support staff, including the supervision, teach assisting and pastoral care of pupils.
The successful candidate will benefit from extremely generous time off, as they will be required to work during term time only, plus two weeks during the academic year summer holidays. To be considered for the post you will hold qualifications in Motor Vehicle and/or Motorcycle Maintenance and repair. A teaching qualification such a PTTLS or AET Level 3 would be an advantage, however, should applicants not hold the said qualifications, he or she must be willing to work towards gaining the qualifications within the first six months of employment. The successful candidate will also be competent using I.T. systems and in particular, Microsoft Office.
Main Duties
To teach on a range of full and part-time courses, in line with the centre and curriculum area specifications.
To contribute to the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum in the centre.
To prepare and mark assessments as required within the range of programmes timetabled.
To be responsible for the continuous improvement in attendance, punctuality, retention, and achievement of students in designated teaching groups.
To produce full, considered, and timely reports and references on students.
To work co-operatively within a team and attend all team meetings and training.
To fully participate in the centres ILT strategy including contributing to the upkeep of the section’s intranet site.
To adopt fully all curriculum initiatives adopted by the curriculum area.
To maintain comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of specialist areas.
To maintain current and appropriate resources for all course units taught including Schemes of Work, Lesson Plans, and suitable teaching resources, ensuring differentiated learning opportunities are in place.
To contribute to the total learning experience of students within the curriculum area.
To ensure the application of Inclusive Learning in all areas of activity.
Ensure continuous development and improvement of professional knowledge.
Any other duties of a similar level of responsibility as may be required.
