We are looking for a skilled and experienced Motor Vehicle Technician / Class 4 MOT Tester to join our busy workshop on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ motor trade experience, hold a current Class 4 MOT licence, and be capable of carrying out everything from routine servicing and diagnostics to engine repair work.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out Class 4 MOT tests in line with DVSA requirements.
Service, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles.
Diagnose and repair engine faults and major mechanical issues.
Complete all jobs accurately, efficiently, and to high standards.
Maintain workshop cleanliness and safety standards.
Deliver excellent customer service and work well within a team.
Requirements

Current DVSA-approved Class 4 MOT Tester licence.
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Repair.
Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in the motor trade.
Strong diagnostic skills, including engine work and fault finding.
Full UK driving licence.
Reliable, professional, and self-motivated.

We’re Back! 🚗✅

After three challenging weeks, we’re finally up and running with our brand-new, state-of-the-art MOT facility!

It’s been a journey – with a few bumps along the way – but we got there, and we’re excited to be back doing what we do best.

We’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all our customers for your patience and support while we carried out the upgrades. Your understanding means the world to us.

We’re also excited to announce that we’ll soon be adding a laser 4-wheel alignment machine, bringing even more precision and performance to the services we offer.

Exciting things are happening at School Lane Service Station — we’re currently in the process of installing a brand new MOT testing facility! 🙌

Our old MOT bay is out, and the new, upgraded setup is on its way in. This means better service, quicker turnarounds, and the latest technology to keep your vehicle safe and road-ready. 💥

Thank you for your patience while we complete the installation — we can’t wait to welcome you into our improved space soon!

Experienced Vehicle Mechanic
Location: Preston- Bamber Bridge- Full time and Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week with overtime available
Additional Company Benefits: PPE Supplied, Exceptional Career Development Opportunities.

As a Vehicle Technician your responsibilities will include:
Ensure Servicing & Repairs are carried out to Manufacturer Standards
Cambelt, Clutch, Gearbox & Engine Repairs/Replacements
Electrical & Mechanical Diagnostics
Mechanic Warranty Repairs
Must have current motor licence

Experience, Duties and Responsibilities: Service, maintain and repair vehicles components and accessories in line with company, client and/or manufacturer’s instructions.
Removal and refitting in a safe, proper and economical manner using equipment provided.
Diagnose faults and test vehicles utilising equipment available and using recognised test procedures and techniques.
Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation to the required standard.
Remain up to date with the latest vehicle technology,.

Skills and Qualifications: Fully qualified Mechanic, through a recognised formal training programme. (NVQ Level 3 at a minimum).
Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
High degree of attention to detail.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to actively seek solutions to problems.
Essential Requirements: Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance 2 years Post Apprenticeship Experience
Full and clean UK Driving Licence
