“Better than medicine.”

So says JJ from Springfield Nursing Home - Hartford Care following their recent visit on Wetwheels. And we couldn’t agree more.

Nearly 15 years ago, our founder Geoff Holt wrote an article entitled “One day, doctors will prescribe a trip on Wetwheels instead of tablets.”

It seems JJ also understands just how much a trip on the water can mean, particularly for disabled and older people who so often face barriers to enjoying activities like these.

We absolutely loved having you all on board. Your carers and volunteers were an absolute delight, and we thoroughly enjoyed our day together. You brought a ray of sunshine to our whole crew. 💙

We look forward to welcoming you aboard Wetwheels again soon!

We’re absolutely delighted to be back in Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight for our annual Wetwheels Solent visit.

We’ll be running trips throughout the week for local disabled people, together with their friends and families, and things have already got off to a fantastic start. We’ve made it out to the iconic Needles and also had the chance to enjoy the remarkable coloured sands at Alum Bay — two of the Isle of Wight’s most distinctive landmarks.

None of this would be possible without the generous support of Wight Aid, who are helping to make this week happen, and a special thank you as well to Yarmouth Harbour for their continued support with our berthing and mooring arrangements.
It’s wonderful to be back.

Earlier this week, we had the incredible honour of welcoming a very special gentleman aboard Wetwheels Solent.
Les is 97 years old and served in the Royal Navy aboard HMS Alliance, the A-class submarine now preserved at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Gosport. Launched in 1945 and commissioned in 1947, HMS Alliance went on to serve throughout the post-war and Cold War years, including operations in the Far East.

So to take Les out on the water and bring him back alongside the submarine on which he once served was a truly special moment. Seeing HMS Alliance behind him, and knowing the memories that must have come flooding back, made this far more than just another Wetwheels trip. It was an emotional reunion with an important part of Les’s life and our naval history.

A real privilege for all of us at Wetwheels Solent.

Only a week to go until we return for an annual week in Yarmouth. Almost all available bookings are now full although there are a few remaining. Visit www.wetwheelssolent.co.uk to check out availability. Can't wait to see our friends again in Yarmouth Harbour and Destination Yarmouth. It's always one of our favourite weeks of the year. Thank you to Wight Aid for their support which enables us to provide Wetwheels experiences to so many disabled people on the island. 👏🥰
