If your auto F45/F46 BMW is failing to recognise its in park and displays “secure vehicle against rolling”, unfortunately it’s developed an internal gear selector fault.

Main dealer and most other garages would quote to supply a brand new gear selector which can cost up to £700. We have found a cost efficient repair.

The cause of the fault is the failure of a spring used to keep tension on a lever switch. Once the selector module is carefully opened the spring can be replaced and the vehicle repaired and rebuilt.

I’ve recently been called out to investigate several “battery drain” issues that have turned out to be down to vehicle usage rather than any significant current draw from battery.

A modern vehicle can draw anywhere between 0.005-0.045 amps at full shut down hibernation. The higher end will account for alarm, keyless entry and various other systems needed to run with a battery power supply.

Unfortunately this means if the vehicle is only used for short journeys and then sits for days on end it can eventually lead to a discharged battery. There’s many ways around this and MB Auto Tech will always find a solution that works best for the customer. In the past we’ve fitted remote battery isolators and solar charge panels.

Our elderly customer with this VW Polo decided she’d like a discreetly installed battery charger hook up fitted in an easily accessible place. We chose the Noco genius charger with the connector hidden away in the glove box.

At MB Auto Tech we test and never guess when it comes to fault diagnosis. This Citroen C4 had an intermittent misfire and unfortunately the customer had previously paid out on unnecessary parts elsewhere.

We have the equipment and expertise to pin point the issue with your car. In this case the engine ECU was losing its ignition coil signal. We’ll send this ECU to for repair, saving the customer even more ££.

Ford Transit ABS & parking aid faults rectified for EMF Roofing 🤝

Wiring investigation showed poor previous “repair”. The less conventional twist together and gaffer tape method used. 😅

Circuits now correctly soldered, heat shrunk and protected in conduit. Original problem was likely caused by rodent damage so repellent sprayed on all exposed areas.👨🏻‍🔧

VW Eos intermittent convertible roof fault. VCDS software was used to pinpoint the problem area. The passenger pillar hall effect sensor had an internal issue, stopping the roof from completing its cycle.

A new sensor was sourced and soldered into the existing wiring loom. Once recalibrated the customer can now enjoy the sunshine as intended! ☀️

Has your Mercedes E-Class Airmatic suspension dropped? Unfortunately this system is plagued with issues and this particular garage still had faults after changing the air springs. MB Auto Tech were called to investigate.🕵🏻

The permanent fault code within the system related to an open circuit condition of the compressor regulator valve. After consulting the diagram a wiring fault was quickly found.👨🏻‍🔧

1984 BMW M635i with intermittent cutting out/non start. After the engine stopped on the motorway our customer had unfortunately lost confidence in driving his pride & joy, this vintage straight-six beast!

Due to the intermittent nature of the fault, different parts had been changed with no success and the vehicle was placed into storage. That’s until MB Auto Tech were tasked with ending the nightmare 😵‍💫

After a patient morning waiting for the fault to arise, the engine died and it was quickly established the coil feed was missing. This was traced to an ignition relay under the dash, which in turn was powered by the OBC relay module. Once opened, a dry solder joint on the circuit board was found to be the culprit🕵🏻‍♂️

Unable to power DRL at BCM pin, no current draw on circuit. Wiring fault confirmed! Wiring looms investigated until problem area exposed 🔎

2013 Audi A3 with no hot air coming from heater vents. Investigation into the system proved a flow issue through a blocked heater matrix.👨🏻‍🔧

Heater matrix (internal radiator) replacement requires centre console and glove box removal. Once coolant is flushed and the part fitted, the system is bled and flow through the new matrix now achieved. 🥵
