There’s something refreshingly simple about building and tuning the VAG 1.8T 20V. Unfortunately, it seems to be becoming a bit of a dying art, with plenty of tuning companies no longer wanting to entertain them.
Not us! We’re not letting the 1.8T disappear anytime soon. 😎
They’re a well-understood, incredibly capable platform and, when the hardware is right, still hugely rewarding to tune properly.
That said, these cars are NOT getting any younger! Before chasing more power, the engine and supporting hardware need to be in good health. Give a 1.8T the attention it deserves, bring the supporting hardware up to scratch, and it’ll love you back. 👌
