LONG LIFE DOESN’T MEAN FOREVER! 👀

This Audi SQ5 came in to us for an automatic gearbox service.

Audi class the gearbox oil as “LongLife” and don’t specify that it needs replaced. 🤦‍♂️ They don’t even recognise an automatic gearbox oil service on their digital service portal!

But just look at the colour of the old oil, the filter and the magnets. This gearbox was certainly ready for some fresh oil!

We carried out the service using our Brain Bee AGC-8250 automatic gearbox flushing machine, using the correct grade of Motul oil — yes, the Motul with the red dye 😉 — along with a good quality OE filter.

BG products used as always.

Automatic gearbox servicing is preventive maintenance. Don’t wait until the gearbox starts giving problems and you’re looking at a much bigger bill.

A gearbox oil service is a lot cheaper than a gearbox repair! 💷

VW Touareg in for an automatic gearbox oil and filter change.

All carried out using our Brain Bee AGC-8250 automatic gearbox flushing machine, ensuring the correct grade of oil and filter are used.

As always, BG Products were also used as part of the service. 💪

And before someone looks at the photo and says “that’s the wrong oil” — it’s not! 😂

Motul puts a red dye in the ZF oil, which is why it looks like that.

We always use the correct specification and grade of oil, whether it’s an engine service or automatic gearbox service. 👍

A little insight into those “just looking a price”

We just wanted to explain something that might not always be obvious when you're ringing around for a quote.

We don’t have a full-time office person sitting there all day doing nothing but quotes. When we have someone in the office part-time, they're kept pretty busy with bookings, invoicing, chasing parts queries, dealing with suppliers, phone calls, emails and all the other behind-the-scenes jobs that keep a garage running.

When someone asks us for a price for a job, especially when they want genuine parts vs OE-quality parts, there can actually be quite a bit involved.

We have to contact the parts suppliers, wait for prices and availability, sometimes make several calls to get the information we need, then sit down at the computer, work out the parts, labour and everything else involved before we can give you an accurate quote.

And that's before we've even picked up a spanner! 😂🔧

We completely understand that everyone wants the best price — that's only natural. 👍
But quite often, a lot of time can go into preparing a quote, only for it to be used to price-match another garage.

So please bear in mind that a quote isn't just a quick number we pull out of the air. There's time and work involved in putting it together.

We are always happy to help our customers wherever we can, but we also have cars booked in, repairs to carry out and customers waiting on their vehicles.

So if you're looking for a quote, please give us a little bit of time to get it done properly. ❤️

🔧 VW Tiguan – Timing Belt & Water Pump Replacement 🔧

This VW Tiguan came into us from one of our car dealer customers to have a new timing belt kit and water pump fitted before going up for sale.
