Exactly 24 years ago today, an old fire engine was being used by a Port Glasgow vehicle recovery firm to help keep foot and mouth disease at bay.

The team at Auto Tec of Port Glasgow - who at the time were contracted by Strathclyde Police to recover stolen and accident-damaged vehicles - were instructed to disinfect all cars removed from farmland as a safety precaution.

Port Glasgow Junior Football Club are delighted to announce this evening a new sponorship agreement for Season 2024/2025 with Auto-Tec Scotland Ltd

This new partnership will see Auto-Tec as a back of the strip sponsor for our fantastic new kits due to be released. The club will also showcase Auto-Tec via prime position banner advertising at parklea for match days and via our media backdrop, providing background coverage for all player and management pre and post match interviews.

Port Glasgow Juniors Treasurer, Chris McKillop commented; "We are proud and very grateful to Auto-Tec Scotland for supporting the club this season. All in a days work, removal of a Tesla model s battery for heater fuse replacement!
Tesla designers were obviously drunk when they designed this one 👀
Luckily at autotec we are qualified In all aspects of EV repair and were able to save this customer a considerable amount over a trip to Tesla.
