This is what a professional install looks like.

One of our USA resellers, Concord Marine Electronics, put together this NMEA 2000 network in West Palm Beach, Florida - made up of Actisense gateways and A2K cables and connectors, wired clean and routed right so the captain gets reliable data across every display onboard.

Good gear only gets you halfway. It's installs like this that make the difference between a network you can trust and one that gives you problems later on.

Concord talked us through how they approach builds like this. Find out here -> https://actisense.com/case_study/why-concord-marine-electronics-builds-yacht-networks-on-actisense-nmea-2000/

πŸ“ West Palm Beach boat owners: Concord can check your current network against this standard. Call 954 779 1100.

Ever wonder what keeps a yacht's systems talking to each other when it matters most?

Concord Marine Electronics has spent 30 years installing electronics on everything from performance cruisers to superyachts. And they've landed on one truth: a boat is only as reliable as the network connecting its systems.

Navigation, engine monitoring, autopilot, radar, safety alarms - it all comes down to one backbone.

Swipe to see why Concord chooses reliability every time πŸ‘‡

Network won't power up? Getting a strange resistance reading? Can't figure out where the fault is?

Building and troubleshooting an NMEA 2000 network shouldn't be complicated, but it helps to know exactly what to check and when.

Our latest guide covers:
β€’ The minimum requirements to get started
β€’ How the backbone and cables fit together
β€’ Step-by-step testing for power supply and termination resistance
β€’ How to track down a fault

Whether you're building a network for the first time or chasing down a problem on an existing one, this one's worth saving.

Building something custom for NMEA 2000 networks? You shouldn't have to write your own communications code just to get started.

That's exactly what the Actisense SDK solves. It's a free, open-source toolkit that handles the tricky NMEA 2000 communications layer so you can skip straight to building.

What you can create with it:
βœ… Fleet management & vessel monitoring tools
βœ… Custom navigation displays
βœ… Marine data logging & diagnostics
βœ… Integrations with third-party systems

It's MIT licensed (free for commercial and personal use), works with our NGX-1 & NGT-1 gateways, and even includes a built-in simulator so you can test it before connecting any hardware.

Ready to try it? Follow the Getting Started guide πŸ‘‰ https://actisense.com/acti_software/sdk/

A summer treat for the team at Actisense πŸ•

We had a pizza van visit Actisense HQ yesterday, serving up a delicious selection of artisan wood-fired pizzas buffet-style on wooden boards, so everyone could feast as much (or as little!) as they liked.

The team made the most of it with an extended lunch out in the sun β˜€οΈ. Some played a few ball games, while others relaxed in our picnic area. A perfect treat all round!

Thank you to the team at Ticklin Tastebuds for bringing the feast to us!

Ever wondered why almost every new vessel now comes fitted with solid state radar instead of a traditional magnetron?

The change didn't happen overnight, but once you understand the technology, it's easy to see why the industry has made the switch.

⚑ Instant startup
πŸ› οΈ No magnetron tube replacements
βš“ Better close-range detection around ports and marinas
🎯 Sharper target separation

Of course, no technology is perfect, and there are still situations where magnetron radar has an edge. In our latest article, we break down exactly how both technologies work, where each excels, and what it means for today's vessels.

Plus, discover how Actisense helped power Raymarine's Pathfinder radar system with intelligent NMEA data integration.

Magnetron radar served the marine industry for 80 years. So why is everyone switching? We break down what's changed and why it matters for your vessel.
