This 2011 VW Passat came in with the clutch pedal staying down. 🔧

Brake fluid dripping from under the gearbox. Clutch slave cylinder leaking. Transmission out to get to it.

But while they were in there, the flywheel told its own story. Way too much movement on the dual mass. Not rattling yet, but it wasn’t far off.

Good job the customer asked for it to be replaced. 👀

Full LUK kit fitted. New slave cylinder, clutch and flywheel. Bell housing cleaned out. Rear main seal checked and bone dry so that could stay.

Caught at exactly the right time. ✅

The main dealer quoted £800.

We did it for less than half of that. ✅

Wednesday slump? Not at Drive Autoworks! 🍰☕

Our Service Advisor Sarah nominated Steve and the crew for a well-deserved midweek treat from the Italian Bakery via Hot Radio. Her reason? “They work really hard and never moan, Steve is a fab boss and has made me feel welcome since starting in April. What better way to say thanks than with cake?”

This Audi SQ5 came in clogged up with carbon. 🔧

And we mean properly clogged. Intake manifold, throttle bodies, valves. Absolutely packed with it.

Every bit stripped, cleaned and cleared. ✅

The difference is night and day.

Polo update. 🔧

And it’s not good news.

The timing chain guides have completely disintegrated. Steve’s never seen that before. The chain has been running on bare metal. The longer it ran, the more damage it was doing.

Good job nobody started it again. 👀

New guides, tensioner, cam sprockets and bolts all going in. All the debris cleared from the sump.

It’s fixable. Just. ✅

This Audi RS6 came in for rear brake pads. 🔧

Pads were worn right through the wear indicator. But that wasn’t the only thing we found.

Damage on both caliper seals. These calipers wind back electronically. Looks like someone’s tried to twist them back at the last brake pad change. A costly mistake on these. 👀

This Skoda Karoq came in for a minor service. 🔧

Multiple warning lights on the dash told us there was more to do.

Right front ABS sensor, corroded solid in the hub. An absolute nightmare to get out. 😅

New sensor in, fault codes cleared, service done. ✅

This VW T4 came in smoking with a lack of power. 🔧

Faulty turbo control valve was the obvious fix. But Steve didn’t stop there.

Timing was out dynamically too. Set it just forward of centre and suddenly it remembered it was supposed to be fun to drive. 😄

This Skoda Octavia taxi came in with an EVAP fault. 🔧

The N80 valve, a split pipe and an overfilled charcoal canister.

And here’s something worth knowing. When your fuel pump clicks off at the pump, stop filling. That’s it. Keep topping up past that point and you risk overfilling your charcoal canister with petrol and damaging it.

Genuine parts fitted, faults cleared. ✅
