This Skoda Octavia taxi came in with an EVAP fault. 🔧

The N80 valve, a split pipe and an overfilled charcoal canister.

And here’s something worth knowing. When your fuel pump clicks off at the pump, stop filling. That’s it. Keep topping up past that point and you risk overfilling your charcoal canister with petrol and damaging it.

Genuine parts fitted, faults cleared. ✅

This Audi TT came in with a brake servo pipe on the verge of letting go. 🔧

Really common fault on the Mk1 TT. The pipe splits right where it connects to the one way valve. When it goes, you lose all vacuum in the brakes and the pedal goes rock hard.

Steve caught it just in time. Simple repair kit, two clips, sorted. ✅

Meet Steve 👋

Owner of Drive Autoworks. Been running the business for over 5 years now, since March 2021.

Favourite job? Taking a car that needs absolutely everything, brakes, tyres, suspension, cam belt, major service, the works. And by the time it leaves, it’s transformed. When the customer notices the difference and is genuinely appreciative? That’s what it’s all about. 🙌

Worst job? Working on his own van. (See previous reel. 😂)

Tea in the morning, couple of coffees after. Sensible.

First car was a Nova saloon. Dream cars? 205 GTI, Nova GSI, and he’s had a Fiesta RS Turbo for 24 years that needs to get back on the road. One day, Steve. One day. 🤞

Worst thing seen on a car? Metal to metal brakes. More common than you’d think. Please get your brakes checked. 🙏

Meet James 👋

Service tech here at Drive Autoworks for about a year and a half.

Favourite job? A nice 2 litre TDI cam belt. Satisfying every time. ✅

Worst job? Longitudinal automatic Audi gearboxes. Heavy, awkward, not one he’s rushing back to.

Dream car? Mk4 Astra GSI in Arden blue.

Worst car? Anything Renault or Peugeot.

First car was an Astra too. Not the GSI though. 😂

Coffee. No milk.

And the worst thing he’s ever found on a car? A steering wheel covered in bogies. Found that one out the hard way. 😭
