☀️ Make the most of the sunshine... it's the perfect time to sort those cloudy canopy windows!

If your sprayhood or canopy windows have become scratched, cloudy, cracked or difficult to see through, you don't necessarily need a whole new canopy.

We can replace your windows, repair damaged stitching, replace worn zips and breathe new life into your existing canvas – often for a fraction of the cost of a replacement. Replacing worn windows is a common way to extend the life of an otherwise sound sprayhood.

✔ Crystal-clear replacement windows
✔ Zip and stitching repairs
✔ Canopy and sprayhood repairs
✔ Fast turnaround from our Poole workshop
✔ UK-wide postal service available

The warm, dry weather makes it the ideal time to get your boat ready for the rest of the season, so you can actually enjoy the view instead of peering through foggy plastic!

Attention RNLI D-Class Crews...

Is your D-Class cover looking a little worse for wear?

After years of UV, saltwater, slipways and late-night shouts, even the best covers eventually reach the end of their life. A tired cover doesn't just look scruffy—it offers less protection for one of the hardest-working boats afloat.

We manufacture replacement RNLI D-Class covers, handmade in our Poole Harbour workshop using heavy-duty marine-grade materials. They're designed to fit properly, last for years, and keep your boat protected when it's off the water.

As a small family marine canvas business, we're proud to have worked with RNLI crews, producing practical covers built for working lifeboats—not just leisure craft!

✔ Made to fit RNLI D-Class lifeboats
✔ Heavy-duty, UV-stable marine grade PVC
✔ Handmade in the UK
✔ Nationwide delivery
✔ £255 + postage

If your station's cover has seen better days, it might be time for an upgrade.

🎉 The Cover & Sail Repair Shop is 4 Years Old! 🎉

Blimey. Four years.

When I took over the family business in 2022, I genuinely had no idea where it would lead. Since then it's been a bit of a whirlwind of sails, covers, zips, windows, sewing machines, deadlines, late nights, and the occasional "can you just..." job that turns into a full rebuild.

Over the last four years we've repaired hundreds of sails and covers, worked on everything from Optimists to ocean-going yachts, helped sailing clubs, boat owners, RNLI crews and local businesses, and somehow squeezed it all in around family life and raising Molly.

It's not always glamorous. Most days it's me in a workshop covered in bits of thread, trying to find where I've put the scissors for the tenth time. But I genuinely love what I do.

What makes it all worthwhile is the people. The customers who keep coming back, the recommendations, the cups of tea, the stories, and the trust you've placed in me to look after your boats.

So thank you.

Thank you to everyone who's supported the business, recommended us, dropped work off, shared posts, or simply followed along over the last four years.

I'm incredibly proud that a small Dorset business can still make a living repairing things rather than replacing them.

Here's to another year of keeping boats afloat, covers waterproof, sails flying, and yes... replacing emergency zips on a Friday afternoon.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

Suzie ⛵

Before & after on a couple of reupholstery jobs for Jenkins Marine ⚓

The first was the galley seating, which had been held together with duct tape after years of hard use and was definitely showing its age.

The second was the captain's chair, which had reached the point where it was ready for a new lease of life.

Whilst upholstery isn't something we specialise in, we do occasionally take on projects like this when they're the right fit. In both cases, the existing foam and bases were retained, with new covers made to give them a fresh look and many more years of service.

There's something satisfying about restoring well-used items and keeping them in use rather than replacing them entirely. ♻️⚓

⛵✂️ Today in the workshop...

A new overall RIB cover for this 5m boat, designed to keep those bright red tubes out of the sun while being much quicker and easier to remove when it's time to get out on the water.

No complicated fitting, no wrestling with covers on the slipway — just simple protection when she's ashore and a quick getaway when the weather's good.

Apprentice Molly was on quality control duties today and seems to think we're doing an acceptable job so far 👧🏼🧵

If your boat cover is tired, torn, or you've never had one made, get in touch. A good cover saves a lot of cleaning, fading and headaches later on. ⛵☀️
