Things I love about AI, I couldn’t visualise this engine all black, but with a few taps on the keyboard and voila! One black engine, now all I have to do is replicate it. This is going to give a very different look to the next Wardill4

Time for an update on the original Wardill Supercharged engine, the drawings are really starting to come together now, the pistons are drawn and we now have a decompression valve, I know a donut shaped piston with 2 conrods doesn’t make sense to most people and there will be people that may not believe it will work, but remember this engine design successfully completed the London to Exeter run in two consecutive years in the 1920’s 😍

Some beautiful machines on display at this years Goodwood revival. It’s been quite a few years since a Wardill was at Goodwood, it would be amazing to get one on the track one day, maybe when the Wardill engine is finished we could try and get a lap in…. 😍

Time for something a bit different today with a visit to the VHRA pendine sands races, unfortunately it was a bit wet to race but we are still having fun, hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow.

Wardill Engine 2026 update! Things are coming along nicely, there is still plenty of work to do but hands up who’s excited to hear what the one of a kind 2 piston 3 con-rod piston with a hole sounds like?

I asked a good friend of mine to build a stand for our engines to lift them up for painting, ever the creative and unable to do anything by half he cut our logo into the base! He didn’t stop there either, with the waste material he made me a Flying W desk motif! How cool is that! A big shout out goes to Andrew Wall for the stand 😎

I’m looking for a bit of help or inspiration, I’ve discovered that Mr J Harrison, who did the drawings of the Wardill engine was a member of the A.M.I.A.E I understand this is the Institution of Automobile Engineers, does anyone know if there is a register of their members of if the institution still exists, I’d like to find out more about MR Harrison. Thanks in advance. Mark

Unbelievable progress has been made on the new Wardill Engine. Words cannot express how excited I am with this project, watching an almost forgotten 100 year old design coming back to life, what’s more special for me is that it’s such an unusual design, one that it was aid that the patent officer said wouldn’t work, but it did. A big shout out to Tom Tom Shaw for his work on these drawings.
