It’s our last meeting of the season on Monday and that means it’s the last chance for jockeys to throw their name in the hat for the ‘2026 Pontefract ride of the year’🏆

Raceday presenter, Andrew Thornton, will be selecting three rides from across the season and we’ll be putting them to public vote to see who takes first prize.

Dale Gibson PJA Racing Director said “The PJA are delighted to team up and support Pontefract Racecourse in the inaugural “Ride of the Year” award. We hope the public enjoy the challenge of judging the best ride around the unique track in 2026 and thank Pontefract and their executive for their generous and ongoing support of all Jockeys. The PJA look forward to another entertaining season of racing next year and continuation of the award.”

Look forward to seeing you all on Monday!

We had another great visit to New Beginnings Horses today to help out around the yard. We were happy to lend a hand painting the stables, all while supporting the incredible work these guys do retraining and rehoming former racehorses🐎 A huge thank you to Kevin and Pam for the warm welcome as always💚
