It must be snapped spring season at the moment!! Another one recovered to us after the spring had snapped and punctured the tyre, this time on a little Fiat 500!! Car was recovered to us at 1AM and a replacement spring, strut top mount and tyre were all fitted the same day, with minimal disruption to the customer who was delighted to be back on the road so quickly!

Today we installed this awesome Alpine speaker upgrade kit into a customers brand new VW T6.1 Camper! The kit included replacement front door speakers and tweeters, including these fantastic looking stainless grills which slot perfectly in place of the originals on the A pillars!

The sound quality these produce are incredible compared with the standard speakers - the difference is night and day!

We can supply and fit these kits to VW T6 and T6.1’s from as little as £399! These are definitely a must have upgrade if you’re spending a lot of time on the road!

We had this 2005 Seat Ibiza 1.4 in the workshop for some repair work and also to diagnose a fault which was causing the car to lose power and go into limp mode.

We began replacing the Coil Spring and Top Mount which had broken and also replaced the Auxiliary Belt, which we had noted was in extremely poor condition during inspection.

We then began to diagnose the limp mode fault, firstly by reading the stored fault codes in the ECU. These came back as Intake Air System Leak and Manifold Absolute Pressure Circuit Range. We began by inspecting the full Intake System including all pipes etc, looking for potential leaks! We located numerous splits in the intake vacuum pipe between the Inlet Manifold and the Brake Servo. An OEM replacement was sourced from TPS, fitted and the car was road tested with no faults now present!

Another bit of routine maintenance carried out today; this time on a Nissan Juke, which visited us to have the Rear Brake Discs and Pads replaced. We also carried out a full clean and adjustment on the Parking Brake Shoes during the process, eliminating the excessive Parking Brake travel which was present previously!

This 2012 Ford KA came to us at 10 years old, to have it’s FIRST Cambelt change 😳 These are due for replacement at 5 years and so this belt was well past it’s best! We used the correct timing tools to lock both the Camshaft and Crankshaft and replaced the Timing Belt, Water Pump and Auxiliary Belt.

This stunning, freshly converted VW T6.1 Camper came to us, with the new owner not happy with the ride height at the rear. When converted from a standard van, all the kit in the back such as the rock and roll bed and cabinets add a large amount of weight, which then reduces arch gap by 30mm, causing it to look disproportionate to the arch gap at the front. We suggested that a set of Sachs heavy duty rear coil springs were fitted to resolve this. If you scroll through the images, you can see the original arch gaps front and rear, along with a comparison of the new and old springs. The last image also shows how the van now sits! Once fitted the arch gap was virtually mm perfect with the front! The customer was absolutely delighted with the outcome of this one, as were we! 😎

Now this was an interesting one! 2012 Ford Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost experiencing intermittent EM Light and loss of power. When we read the fault codes stored in the ECU, we found ‘Turbocharger Overboost’. Upon inspecting the turbo, we noticed that the wastegate was erratic and not operating correctly. The wastegate is vacuum controlled and therefore we inspected the full vacuum circuit and located this fault. The valve on the vacuum pump was almost completely missing the diaphragm inside it! We managed to source a replacement diaphragm at a fraction of the cost of a new vacuum pump from Ford, who don’t sell the part individually. We replaced the diaphragm itself, correct wastegate operation was now present and the car performed faultlessly on road test.

This week we had the task of locating a coolant leak on the 2.7 TDV6 Engine of this Land Rover Discovery 3. We pressure tested the system and located a large leak from the thermostat housing, which had a huge split down the join! We sourced a new, genuine JLR thermostat housing and fitted it before vacuum filling the system with fresh coolant!

This 2015 Ford Transit Custom came into us running in limp mode due to the soot content in the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) being over the specified limit.

Having carried out on diagnostic checks on the vehicle, we found that the coolant temperature sensor was at fault. The reading from the coolant temperature sensor was far below optimal engine operating temperature, and therefore the ECU would not allow standard or forced DPF regeneration due to this.

We agreed with the customer that, due to it all being available as a full unit, we would replace the thermostat housing which included the temperature sensor along with a brand new thermostat. Once we had done this, we vacuum filled the cooling system with fresh coolant and carried out a forced DPF regeneration on the vehicle. To finish off we carried out an engine oil and filter change, essential after a forced regeneration due to the potential of the engine oil becoming contaminated during this process.

All faults were cleared and the van was put through it’s annual MOT test, before being returned to the customer who was delighted to be back on the road!
