Welcome to The Hem!

My name is Jade and I’m the hands, heart and founder of The Hem. I’ve been a professional bridal seamstress for the last 5 years, specialising in bespoke designs and custom alterations. I recently launched The Hem through wanting to take a more personal, flexible approach to bridal alterations and bespoke dressmaking that fits around the busyness of modern life.

We are a fully mobile fitting service also offering out of hours appointments that work around you.

Having got married myself in 2024 (and of course making my own bespoke bridal looks) I have 1st hand experience that some elements of wedding planning can feel quite cookie cutter, rinse and repeat. The Hem is a bridal experience that’s more connected to our everyday self expression and creating something beautiful that encapsulates that.

As an introductory gift from me to you, we’re offering free virtual consultations until 31/10 to discuss any and all questions or concerns about your dress, at whatever stage of your wedding journey you’re at.

• An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new member of staff to join the team here at Sutton Garage & MJ Performance in Eggbuckland . Due to our thriving business, we are looking for an experienced light motor vehicle mechanic/technician (MOT Tester would be an advantage, but not essential). Duties will include light vehicle servicing, general repairs & diagnostics. along with having the opportunity to be involved with the performance side of our business if so desired. We are looking predominantly for someone with time served experience in the servicing and repair of vehicles to a very high standard, a high level of enthusiasm & an eye for detail.
• A competitive salary along with the opportunity to earn plenty more will be offered to the right candidate
• 40 hours per week. Monday- Friday with flexible start time if required
• 4 weeks paid holiday plus bank holidays
