2014 Ford Focus booked in with reports of clutch slipping & lack of power.

Clutch & Slave cylinder replaced due to internal slave cylinder leaking and an excessively worn friction plate.

2010 Ford Fiesta booked in for reports of no start, coolant loss and oil leak.

Customer had taken this vehicle to multiple garages regarding the coolant leak with no avail.

After diagnosis, these faults were all traced to a warped cylinder head caused by the vehicle overheating. Exhaust gas was present in the expansion tank.

•Cylinder head re skimmed
•Head gasket replaced
•Timing belt replaced
•All gaskets renewed
•Expansion tank replaced
•Cooling system flush, refill and bleed
•Engine oil and filter replaced

Post replacement of the above, the vehicle starts and runs perfectly. The customer is happy to finally be back on the road after multiple garage visits.

2010 VW Golf booked in for a rattling noise with the engine running alongside an Engine oil & filter change.

After diagnosis, the noise was traced down to a failed magnetic clutch in the 2 piece water pump pulley.

2009 Toyota Aygo booked in today with reports of rattling noise from the engine.

After diagnosis, this was traced to a failed water pump bearing.

•Water pump, gaskets and fixings replaced
•Auxillary drive belt replaced
•Cooling system refilled, bled and pressure tested confirming no leaks

Dashcams and wiring was removed from customers previous vehicle to be installed to their new car.

2020 Ford Kuga booked in today for a Major Service and inspection.

2010 BMW 320D booked in for excessive coolant loss and intermittent engine malfunction light.

The coolant loss was traced to a defective water pump bearing, in turn coolant was being lost behind the pulley. The failure can be seen in the video in the comments.

The EML was traced to a sticking EGR. Alongside being visibly dirty, the roller guide had excessive wear. This meant that the valve was not returning to the commanded position correctly. This resulted in 7 different EGR related codes.

•EGR Valve replaced & actuation test completed successfully
•Water pump replaced
•Auxillary belt replaced
•Tensioner & Idler pulley replaced at the customers request

A pressure test was completed on the cooling system post rectification, confirming no further leaks were present.

No returning codes or engine malfunction light after testing.

2015 Ford C-Max booked in with reports of Transmission limited function.

A code was set for TCM - no adaptive learning completed.

Customer also had not had the transmission fluid changed and noticed this fault occurred in the recent stint of cold weather.

With this information, it was recommended that the transmission oil and filter was changed alongside completing the adaptive learning functions.

Fortunately the transmission fluid was changed as the filter was extremely dirty and blocked.

The learn procedure was completed, vehicle then road tested and no fault codes returned. Shifting was noticeably smooth after completing this procedure.

2017 Vauxhall Mokka booked in for an intermittent Engine management light and loss of power.

After diagnostics, this was traced down to a faulty purge control valve which has been replaced.

The vacuum pipe to the fuel pressure regulator was also replaced as there was signs of degradation.

Vehicle has been tested and the engine management light is no longer present.

2012 Fiat 500 booked in for reports of a ticking engine noise at idle.

The noise was traced down to an excessively worn and visibly damaged clutch release bearing.

The clutch was replaced as the gearbox was removed for the bearing replacement.

2016 Dacia Sandero booked in today for rectification of suspension related MOT advisories.

Both front lower control arms and anti roll bar links replaced due to deteriorating and cracking bushes.

31/12/2024

2012 Mini Cooper Countryman booked in for crankshaft pulley replacement.

This is a very common fault on this engine where the rubber fails within the balancer pulley, leaving the car unusable.

The pulley and auxillary drive belt were replaced, alongside clearing all fault codes.

Confirmed the alternator is now charging the battery correctly and no fault codes return.

Customer was happy they were able to get back on the road before the new year.
